- I believe I sold my utility body to a construction company in Pennsylvania.
Trying to figure out the logistics / shipping for it but looks like I got $3250 bucks for it! Score!
I'll be removing it this week, unless he wants to pay me to drive it down to him
-Put my tires / rims up for sale. Hope they go in next few weeks.
-Made a complete list of parts to transfer. I decided to basically keep the cab frame and bolt everything to it.
unless I find something wrong with it while I have it all apart.
-hit all the bolts with PB in hopes to free a few of them up.
pics coming just need to clear out the le garage. Nothing to impressive yet.
Started stripping the truck down after the rain broke today.
I had to use a breaker bar + heat on all of the bed bolts.. they were a real pain in the ass.
The 2nd one in from back on passenger side is 1/3rd out and the weld on back broke,
so it's stuck and I will deal with it tomorrow. Other then that, it's ready to come off.
The bed itself could be in better shape, but I'll work with it for now. There is some rust seeping into the corners,
behind tailights etc that will need to be treated sooner than later.
I'll show some frame comparisons as soon as I get it removed.
Guy from PA picked up utility body yesterday and gave me the cash.
Just lifted and blocked off the front and used the hoist to pick he whole thing up.
Aluminum was so light / easy to work with.
He was happy as a clam - they are pretty expensive new. I was glad to see it go.
Oh yeah.. I'm prepared. My angle grinder with metal cutter made short work of it. Transferring hood, doors, fender etc today. Snap some pics for tonight
Busy Day! Here's a few pics. I'll come back and label a few.
It should be pretty clear what's going on.
- Hood Transfer
- Bed Transfer
- Driver Side Glass
- Fuel Filler / Nozzle transfer
- New Bumper brackets + reinforcement bar since it was a cab & chassis
- Replace Stock Tail Lights
- And some shots to show the difference between a CT frame and ME frame...
- I have a lot of other stuff to move, but getting the low hanging fruit first to get it on the road.
You get the idea..rusty.
Hard to believe this truck is 11 years old, garaged at times with just about 80K on it. :uhoh:
Just finished a few more things.. time to wrap it up though, it's dark out.
This week
- swapping drivers side door
- swapping everything on front end
- replace fuel filler and tank vent
- removing stock front fender flares (1 is damaged)
- swapping Tows (1 is damaged, but can be fixed easily.. easy to sell)
