ive gotta decide if i want to throw the money at it to fix it or not, probably better to tackle it before it spreads too much. thats the only panel on the truck with any form of rust on it.

Right, the local body shop wanted to replace the whole bedsides for about $5000 which is ridiculous.

But I have a friend of a friend who is a body guy and he just did the pre-made patch panels on two of these trucks. I have a welder so I think I might attempt it myself this summer or have him do it on the side if I fuck it up. And I have another friend who paints so he could just paint the bedsides for me.

that sounds insane, id rather deal with it than drop 5k on a bedside. could put that towards a newer truck

If it's small enough and can just be patched instead of the whole bedside, I can hook you up on a patch. No reason at all it can't be patched nicely if you have a body guy that knows what he's doing

You can make it look decent trimmed, just take off about 3/4 of the way up
