ITGuy's 2003 Sierra 1500/2500 4x4 RCLB Build Thread

I know some of my choices won't please everyone.. but I do listen.

Truth is my GF is in China for work, so I have some "Free" man cave time.
Unfortunately I had to borrow her car today to go to work.

Toyota Corolla...
Girly things in mirror....
Girly trinkets in windows..
Giant Hello Kitty grip pad on dash....
You should see the looks I get at the gas station... :eekdoor:

It's my DD at the moment. I just bought a house earlier in the year and sold everything
except for my motorcycle and an old Expedition. So yeah that complicates things haha!
I'll buy another ride this spring or whenever I do the motor swap. Just saving money until then.

As far as painting goes. I've got two things working against me tonight.
It's damn cold, even though I am presently blowing some heat into my garage.
That will effect the quality of the paint. I'm borderline on temperature.

2nd, I already F'd up by lightly misting a coat of primer onto my passenger mirror
and realizing I forgot the adhesion promoter. Luckily it was a very light coat... but still.
Supposedly the primer is great on plastic but meh whatever. I sprayed a light coat of
promoter on both... the drivers side is fine. We'll see how it turns out.

Worse case scenario is that they get re-painted when the truck get painted in the spring, right?
I am probably putting more effort into this than it's worth haha.

Maybe I will work on bumper assembly while paint dries.

LOL I am certain it is 500% better than this little corolla. It's like 13 years old and 180K miles.
It gets her from point A to B. Barely.

Finished priming everything this evening. Will sand tomorrow.
Also finished re-assembling my lower bumper, and test fit the fog lights.
I'll bolt everything together tomorrow night.

It will be warmer (in the low 50's) later in the week. I might be able to get some painting done if all my prep work is finished.

Hopefully pics by Wednesday of the front end reassembled.

hey if i remember correctly you got your tows heated and signals and stuff for 160 ? do you have a link to this ? around here they are going for 400+ for w/t mirrors

Update : After delays I am picking up my free engine stand this Friday.
They asked if I needed anything else and showed me this 55 ton hydraulic press.
I guess I can haul it away too because they need the space. Not sure if I need it really.
Could be useful. Looks a little dated but could come in handy if I wanted to get into fab work.

It's been pretty cold the last couple of nights, so no progress on the truck.
I did cut some bolts to length for my fog lights. Wiring looks simple although I don't like the little switches it came with.

Making plans to get as much as I can done this weekend.
