06 GMC Build - I guess????

Ordered solenoid from AC Delco Direct, should be here next week. Going to have to tape over that damn light, or posting this will make it go away, seems to be the theme.

Truck was clean, then it snowed yesterday morning and they salted the roads, turned it two tone grey. then more snow and cold today. Eventually we'll be done with this crap, i'll try to get some switch back pictures or video this weekend.

Which CEL? Did you pull the code on it?

I'm assuming the EVAP code 0449 or similar. I had my tuner shut it off :sucess: but I also replaced the ~$20 canister behind the bed. Takes all of 10 min with the bed on.

What code was it? I'm assuming evap. I had a 0449 code that my tuner shut off :slorg:

I also replaced the ~$20 canister at the back of the tank

lol at least you had a evap canistor ...i went to replace mine and couldn't find where it was .... end up the previous owner took it off  spent an hour looking for it and watching youtube videos

ROFL...that's sure to throw you for a loop.

I had same code, replaced canister with "new style". Never had another problem.

Welp shits fixed now.

I also have a 1m strip of LED that I plan to use as an underhood light. I need to figure out if it will clear where I want to mount it. I also need to flip around the wiring on it. That will have to wait until spring when it warms. I also need to address the interior with LEDs, half the 4x4 switch is out, the HVAC has a bulb out, so yeah, need to work on that.

Mother f*%er!! Since its been super cold I've been letting the truck warm before I get in it with my little kid, I started to notice it was leaving spots on the driveway, well my damn trans cooler line running into the radiator is leaking like a bitch.

They aren't to bad price wise, think about $50 each, the long ones can be a bitch to get snaked around though. If you haven't ever messed with the clips like they have remember that if the plastic cover doesn't go on and clip in place then the metal clip isn't in correctly. When you push them in give them a tug to make sure they're in all the way because if not they will leak and can pop off dumping all your trans fluid on the ground(did it on a customers NBS Suburban and smoked the brand new trans :fp:).

Yeah I saw they can be had at dealers for about 25 bucks a line. I have messed with that style clip before, but not on this type of line. I need to get under it and see where exactly its leaking at but im about 99% its a part of the line I cant replace in section, gotta do the whole thing. This weekend its supposed to be warmer ( 38* ) out, so I will do it then.

How much fluid should I expect to come out of this thing? Guess it wouldn't be a bad idea to drop the pan and change the fluid and filter to huh?

Yep, for $20 if you're in there, might as well get it done. Not sure of the capacity of the tranny though.

Getting the trans line fixed tomorrow. I screwed around with it for an hour a weekend or two ago an decided it was worth the hour of labor to have a shop do it. Place Im taking it to was like man, we've done like 4 of those in the past week. So obviously this winter has been killing them.

Also dealing with a PO442 code now. Everynow and then it dings at me to "tighten gas cap" well I put a new cap on it and still same error. Then I realized one of the clamps from the canister swap looked alittle loose, I tightened it up, was good for a few days then the tighten cap came back, and I found the hose clamp split in two laying on my driveway. son of a bitch.....

So I decided to ignore that and order a 21" LED light bar for the hole between the fog lights. This will make me feel better.

What did you do to mount yours? I planned on getting a piece of flat stock to span the distance from what I think are some bumper brackets and then attach the bar to that.
