Neglected bagged truck

The more I think about it the more I'm leaning towards a solid tan. Reasons are 1) in case I decided to repaint whole truck I don't want to be stuck with tan and orange seats. 2) be stuck with seats I won't be able to flip and won't match what is brewing in my head but the tan will... To much time to think.

Something along these lines with the suede then maybe matching headliner and door inserts:

Been emailing back and forth with a Canadian Katzkin dealer. I was hoping they could kind of copy the 07+ seats into my 00 design but they would charge me a massive premium. When I asked "how much" all I got was it's at least double the price of the original seats. The seats in pic above are $2,000. Full leather wrap and suedeskinz in their "Limited Edition" option. Of course the most $$$$ covers they have. In the process of getting something very similar but they aren't really willing to budge much on the suede panel options. They said it's the basic two tone options only unless I wanna pay out the nose for the custom panels. I thinkdoing the centers will be to much suede and having it in the center I think is stupid cuz it will wear out faster. So it will either be a solid standard seat with tuscany amaretto centers, or find some 07+ seats make brackets and then paint all the plastic trim to match cuz I love those seat covers!

still car's in the way... First in, last out deal. After this big rain we are getting most of the salt will be gone and next weekend I should be able to get it out. That's exam week for me and I take off on the 26th for trout season. I am off there after except for a few summer courses so some work should get done. I have an almost zero budget as of now so I doubt it will be on the rd this year. Just tear down and turn into a paper weight till next season. Time will tell.

this piece of poop ready yet??? Take long enough

little update. Been really busy with summer classes, the house, and sorting out finances; but finally made it out to see this "piece of poop" as you so kindly put it. The truck is in worst shape that I thought. Pics below. When I showed up the place the owner was out and aboot mowing his lawn and he waved me down. He started ranting about moisture in the building! turns out this past winter with all the freeze/thaw cycles every vehicle saw some sort of damage and there is a TON of nice cars in there. So I was shitting bricks. Got in there and after talking with Bgray, I pulled the fuel pump fuse and bumped the motor 3-4 times and everything seemed good so I plugged it in, added 20L of 94 and injector cleaner and crossed fingers. She fired right up, no squeek, squill, sparks, fire, imploding, nothing. The 12V system for the bagged was pretty corroded so I had to manually bump up the whole system. Put her on trailer and brought her home. Oh putting a truck on trailer w/o breaks is scary as FAWK! Taking it off was worse. We had heavy duty ratchet straps and "sea sawed" it down but one popped loose 2" from being off and I went for a hell of a ride. Front clip got caught and lucky for me only two clips came loose. Real work starts tomorrow. Gonna give her a decent bath. She needs a wetsanding but I have a zero budget so I'm just going the stuff I can w/o investing coin... for now.

quick power wash:

on trailer:

The "damage"

:scared:

THe powdercoating held up amazing! To bad the blue doesn't go with the colour of the truck.

And here she us finally at home:

yup I'm in no rush to get it on the road. I cut corners the first time (young and dumb), not this time. Paying attention to detail. u can see in the last pic how bad the orange peel is. I have spent ~ 7 hours and am on my third clay bar. She was DIRTY. There is a bunch of crap in the paint too. Some places I don't even think u could wet sand it's that bad. When negotiating price on the paint job I wanted 6 layers of clear. I am pretty sure I would be lucky if there's half that. Fucking douche. I was refereed by a friend and I saw all his work prior too. I asked for a quote and said I was willing to pay more if I could get a guaranty that it would be flawless. I should have walked when he refused my extra $800. I already know the guy who is going to repaint truck when it's time. He has done all my body work since I had this truck painted. I really wasn't feeling this build but the more I think about it, I was wrong

Yah i saw all that orange peel in the box side. If you know a painter, ask for his paint depth gauge, thatll tell you the real truth about paint depth

got a lift booked for july (me week off). Also get to store cab there while redoing frame. Best part....... FREE.
