Khaos' RCSB Thread

Bought a used cam from a member here. Comp Low Lift 212/218 .522/.529 114 LSA. Now just have to save for springs/rods/tune/install. Planning on running LS6 springs and 7.4 pushrods. I emailed a place local to me that specializes in Vettes and LSx motors about the install and tune, just waiting on hearing back from them.

I want a snail, so KB most likely. Him or Trick Perf. That's after college when I buy another vehicle.

I knew they offered then but forgot & didn't look into them. Thanks dude, still a ways off but I have plenty of time to plan.

So a few days ago I emailed a local performance shop to get a quote on installing a cam/springs/rods along with a tune. I was figuring, based on what others have said, 300-500 for labor and another 200-300 for a tune. Got an email back from them today with a quote of 2k for labor and a tune

Needless to say, I politely declined. There is another shop that I'm gonna email also. If not, I'm gonna save for all the tools to do it myself and attempt it at some point. Fuck paying that much :imo:

Idgaf at this point, no way in hell is a shop getting that much from me. I'll take 3 days to do it if I need to.

Got a present today

Goddammit I can't wait til it is fixed so the mocking ceases  I'm hoping I'll be able to save the bedside with a lot of work.

Edit: is the pano ridiculously small?

Got my new pushrods in from Jared (jrluz)

Still have to buy springs, new timing chain & gears, along with new gaskets and probably a new water pump just because it is right there.
