that really sucks about the cam bearings. Can you feel the grooves on the stock cam or bearings with your finger nail? I learned my lesson the hard way when I did my cam.
Here was my stock cam
Front bearing
I couldn't feel the grooves with my nail, so I took a gamble and didn't replace them. After install I had 40psi hot idle with the new cam. It went downhill from there. 3k miles later it dropped to 10psi, then all the way to 0 where it died in my driveway.
This was the result.
So good call on replacing. It will be bamf when done.

I didn't say hand porting was better...lifter failure was the original issue. When we took the stock cam out, we found the grooves on cam and bearing. I'm not doing the bearing. That's foolish. Good news is dallas has plenty of great engine builders/machine shops. Now the decision has to be made to upgrade as in forged and stroked etc, or just the simple things like bearings. Either way I'll probably polish crank and I'm buying all bottom end arp and necessary things that should be replaced while torn down. It is what it is.

I think the argument on hand vs CNC is yes CNC is all matched but hand ported done by someone who is good will be smoother, best would be CNC then good porter goes back and polishes
No, none are damaged that I know of, I will know more once we tear the engine down, but I want to at least do pistons for spray. Tooley has said I should be good with crank and rods. I will have the crank polished if it's all fine. If I find more issues, I will go from there. If I have much more issues I may buy a fully forged motor for around $3600. Then I will promptly buy flowers, chocolates, and other shit my wife would love, so that I can break it to her that I just blew another mound of cash on shit for the car.
