Thanks. I'm trying to work something out with a dd. The truck will have to go. I'll be in a company work truck in about 8 weeks for a bit. So 4 vehicles plus the work truck isn't feasible.

Yes, plenty of guys hand porting, and are good at it. Lloyd is a really good head guy. Simple google will show he's highly recommended for lt and considering not much can be done on ls3 heads, he hand ports and cleans them up how much he can. My dad's engine builder uses him. They are one of the bigger shops in dallas for dirt track and track builds. The just don't port themselves. Rick Crawford hand ports, 8 believe even brian tooley hand ports often.
The best jobs are ported by hand, even if its smoothing cnc imperfections. Id say a significant gain can be made by a very good porter on ls3 heads if you have the supporting mods. So are you milling?
Yes sir, .024 per pat g's recommendation. And I've read many , many conversations over cleaning up a cnc by hand, so I have faith. He comes highly recommended.
What ported oil pumps do you guys recommend? Sold my old exhaust today for $500. Time to order more parts.
I put a ported ls6 pump on my last truck. 55psi hot idle. I don't know if gen 3 and 4 pumps are different though.
cam bearings look worn, but online, many folks said the copper is normal, the second from the front bearing has some grroving, as does that support lobe.

As I said on IG, seeing some copper is common. IMO that seems like a bit much, good call on replacing them. My lq9 had the tinest bit, but i wasnt concerned. Its not totally uncommon for gm to Line Hone the cams on assembly.
I would be really concerned about that lifter tho. From personal experience ive seen that multiple times through the shop, and when the owner doesn't want a rebuild....they usually come back within the year for one. Problem is you don't know where it went. Now you said it isn't that bad...so i guess that's a gamble you'll have to take.

cam bearing game better be on point for the install...u can have 0 oil psi if it gets fucked up
