07 classic vmax build thread

I haven't used birch much, always used MDF. I like how easy it cuts and it's stiff af. I'll use birch on the next box I build probably.
This box will be 2 cubes after displacements tuned to 31hz. It's got 40.25 sq in of port area. Forgot what the gross olume was. Gonna run a sundown x12 on 1600 rms in it.
Old box is like 2.5 cubes after displacements iirc. Tuned to 33hz with two 4" aero ports. It has 2 RE sxx10 in it now. I built it a few years ago and I've improved my skills a lot since so I figured it was time to update my personal box lol.

Here's just a rough side view of the new box, used this to get my measurements for the top piece and port pieces.
Edit: it will have bracing and 45s in the corners, just didn't put it in that sketch up lol

Yeah if you want it to fuck with.. The part that's black needs to be re wrapped though. It's made for my rear buckets in my Ecsb. I could fix the issues with it if you want it. I'll sell it cheap, shipping will be the issue lol it's big and heavy

Cut two benches into two buckets. I can get pics of em when I pull the seats and box to modify the bracket on one of em if you want. I was supposed to for another member a long time ago but never did lol.

Got it set so it can start drying, the piece it's attached to is a scrap piece that got wet and is ruined so I'm using that as sort of a jig to make the top piece rigid. Once it's dry tomorrow I'll assemble the bottom back and the top/front piece then stick the side pieces up to em and draw them up, cut em out and set em in

Side pieces are cut, didn't take pics for same reason lol. Will get some tomorrow. all that's left is to trim a couple pieces and cut mounting holes and start assembly. And I need to cut out a few 45s for the corners

Inside of the box with resin
Two layers of fiberglass mat on the kerfed portion of the box
Spilt some resin on the outside so figured why not.. Lol. All seams soaked in resin inside and out.
It's ugly now, still need to put the back and bottom pieces on and sand it all smooth and it'll be done then on to the upholsterer.

Box is pretty much done other than some final sanding, sandpaper kept gumming up on the sander and pissing me off lol so I stopped for the night. Gonna redo the seat mounts Monday most likely to make sure it all clears. I'll post pics of that too. I'm gonna run the box for a while un wrapped till I get funds to wrap it. It's gonna be done professionally with black suede on sides and probably black leather/vinyl on top. Would do pewter like seats but I plan on doing black leather eventually.
Oh and I said somewhere up there^ that the specs were 2.0 cubes at 31hz, it's actually 2.45 cubes at 31hz after displacements and 40sq in of port are like sundown suggests.
