Got le console in finally!! Posting finished pics first. If you wanna read the long bullshit story and progress shit that'll be at the end
Dash cam wired along A-pillar and under the console so it just stays plugged in and hidden. With another USB slot
Now.. With anything I do, it doesn't happen easy.
Everything was going good. Unplugged oem console, placed new one in close enough to plug it in to test it, so we didn't it bolt down yet. Key on - no power. Unplugged it, - no power. Noticed there's no power to the entire truck other than the fans. Truck would start up, but die instantly - tried googeling stuff and thought I fried my bcm due to the Yukon Denali amp/wiring. Shit my pants. Tested battery, every fuse
My buddy calls someone and they said the console acts as a ground, so we put oem one back in, grounded (install the 4 floor bolts) , tried again - no dice. I was cycling the key and Louis was under the hood fuse box testing. All of a sudden it got power and everything worked fine! Unshit myself.
Thinking it was the ground that fixed it.. Took oem out & tried to put Denali back in, grounded, plug in, then turn key. Truck goes dead again
This point I say fuck it I'll sell all the Denali stuff I have then just paint my stock stuff black. With the influence of Billy I decide to swap the amps & wiring Harness between them.
Sooo we take both consoles fully apart, separating plastic from the metal base & put Denali on the oem base. Fucking bitch to pull out, and redo the wiring harness through impossibly small holes but we got it. Put it together and installed thinking there's no way this wouldn't work.. It's the oem harness!
WRONG. Bolted, installed, plugged, trucks still dead. Now I'm pissed. I'm Cycling keys again, Louis by the fuses again. All of a sudden it turns on!
He said he pulled the radio fuse under the hood and reinstalled it. Right after that everything worked as normal. Then he realized that's what he did last time right before it worked again too... Our faces both dropped
We think that when unplugging the bose amp harness, the truck kills/fucks that one radio fuse under the hood (not the side dash one). It didn't pop it, just fucks it lol now thinking the Denali amp & wiring would have worked fine if we reinstalled that fuse while it was plugged in to reset that connection.. Sounds plausible.. But after 8hrs from start to finish I don't want to think a fuse made me do that much unnecessary work lol
