i drive it around town, just kinda iffy about driving to far like to tulsa or okc, it makes it even harder to listen to the motor with a cheap ass dumped glass pack on it
well when im not the one paying for it then i dont really have a choice. and it needed to be temporarily fixed they day the oem one came off bc i was gonna be driving down to the city 2.5 hrs away and be gone for a couple days. so my dad picked it up and we just temporarily clamped it in and threw a turndown on it and put a hanger on it. Now since the motor appears to be going downhill, the exhaust is the last of my worries
Alright so everyone who keeps up with my truck knows the motor is knocking a bit.
Well its not to the point where i cant drive it, i know some of yall are probably like WTF STOP YOUR GONNA FUCK IT UP WORSE. Honestly i cant fuck up the motor anymore, well i could but it wouldnt matter bc when the time comes a new jasper 0 miles motor will be put in direct swap.
anyway i got out today bc i thought it was thursday and thought oh shit i have a physical therapy appointment for my back. so i go and dont realize its wednesday til the lady told me.....:facepalm: well i decided to take some recyclables and well i was gonna snap pics at the recyclable place (it has a paved ground that i can snap pics with a few building downtown in the backround) well i couldnt do that so i drove down the road and found somewhere to snap a few.

Finally got the go ahead after my back problem and permission from my dad to swap wheels to get an idea of what his wheels that came on their 03 yukon xl looked like on my truck! pics
same size wheels and tires as mine, both 265/75r16 Mine are bridgestone dueler rvt tires his are bfg a/t
I really like the wider look it gives my truck!

well now 100% the engine is shot, i kept driving it with the slight knock (yeah yeah i know dumb idea) but i had to get around somehow, well today i had moved my truck so i could get the 67 out and drive around the neighborhood to get it out and running, well it wouldnt start (battery needed charge) anyway so i get back in my truck to move it back and i fire it up and no joke that mofo sounded like a woodpecker on steriods! Mofo was like CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK CLACK loud as hell, i put it in reverse and backed up then drive and pulled forward quick and shut it off (didnt do a good parking job but who cares), now its 100% out of commission, at least i know i milked that motor for all it had!
have the perfect donor vehicle for that! would have to lookup what all has to be changed in order to do that.....
dfw to swap a ls motor, but as i got deeper and deeper into the info search with everything id want to do it'd be too long and to much right now, there's a guy on pirate4x4 out of vegas who finds the motors cleans em up (6.0s or 5.3s) and runs all tests on them, runs them up to operating temps, does compression tests etc. Sells a real nice clean motor with videos and paperwork backup to guarantee its running perfect rather then a salvage yard just selling the motor to you without knowing the condition. All in all, if a ls swap isn't in the future for this obs, ill more then likely try to find a scsb obs or something and do a swap but that wouldn't be for a while.
eh, you can pick up a 5.3 for 300-500 bucks, and just check it yourself easily, put it back together and be out 400-600. the hardest part is the wiring, everything else is not a big deal.
