So I changed my mind again on subs. I cancelled my pre-order and went my Tantric Sounds here near me in Gonzales, LA. Ronal Murphy is easy to deal with and stands by his products for good reason since he only uses quality parts instead of flashy unnecessary junk. I was very impressed with the Tantric LD8s so I ordered 2 of them. They are build to order so I should have them in a week or two.

So I'm dropping the truck off this afternoon and picking it up tomorrow afternoon with 4.30/truetrac installed.

That UDP an easy swap for the most part? And you need a shorter belt, correct? How much shorter?

Yea It was super easy. Just need plenty ass behind that torque wrench or breaker bar to torque the old bolt to 240 ft. lbs. to seat the pulley lol. I used a Gates 89.5 and for the a/c a Gatorback 34.5. I also have overdrive Alternator pulley.

Got the truck back after work. The guy actually finished late last night and called me this morning and said it was ready but I had to wait till I got off work to get it. I went straight from his house to meet my tuner and he correct the gears in the pcm. It is awesome when cruising and hardly need any pedal to get goin. I didn't hardly get on it cuz I'm gonna wait till 500 miles like what's recommended. I'll report back.

What made u pick the 4:30over the 3:73s or 4:10s? I planning on a tru trac soon and dont know if I should stay with 3:73s or change em out for something better.

Could you do me a favor and snap a pic of the exact green wire that you tap the e fans into? There's multiple green wires and I think I tapped the wrong one.

The difference between 4:30 and 4:10 is 100 rpm when cruising. I was going no less than 4.10 so I figured why not do 4:30 and have even more fun. I had stock 3:73. I would swap for any less than 4:10 but if you absolutely have to go fast on the interstate, go with 3:90. I don't go over 65mph on the interstate with my tire size and gears.

Yea I can later on after class

Here's pics of LEDs I've installed recently:

DRL on at night, of course the camera has a hard time capturing it. It's not that blinding but very bright

Gonna do the hvac soon when I get the bulbs and possibly the door locks if it comes out nice

I sometimes go like 80 on freeway, depending if im trying to keep up with traffic.

At 80mph, you are at 2395rpm. In my opinion, I would get 3.90s and stay under 77mph on the interstate unless ur passing. Basically cruise 77 or less so ur under 2400rpm. But if you want to go 80+ for extended periods of time, I wouldn't do that to the valvetrain with lower gears so u would want to stick with 3.73. 3.90 would just make it a lot more fun on the street. And it also depends on how much interstate driving you do. You'd be fine with 4.10s cruising 70-73mph imo. I just wouldn't put the stock gears on a truetrac since they have to come out anyway and good gears are relatively cheap at $200 compared to most performance parts.

Also, unless it's a really long interstate trip, 70 vs 75 doesn't really save you hardly any time. No more than a couple minutes. Of course my interstate drives to school are about 25 miles so it makes little to no difference if I go 65 or 75 (would be 23 minutes vs 25 minutes) so I set the cruise at 65 and enjoy the ride.

I do drive on freeway often and since I do take truck on some trips the lower gear will put some strain on motor. So when I do the tru trac I might just get some 3:90 or 4:10s. I think the converter would also need to be considered when and if I do gears right?

Yea, that'd be a good idea. 4:10s would be awesome but 3:90s will be a nice little upgrade if you decide you wanna cruise faster. But like I said, unless the trip is more than 40 miles, a 10mph difference will only get u there 2-4 minutes faster so keep that in mind and don't fear the gear lol
