Dakota's build thread

Well my passenger side tire has been rubbing in the fender well pretty hardcore when I have a passenger in the truck lately..pulled the wheel off to try beating it in for a little clearance and found this..

So looks like I'm gonna have to buy some new shocks for the front

Fuck yea..it rides fine with just me in it so ill have to order some and just roll with it like this in the meantime

Yupp but they are made for stock lca's..so when I installed the lowers they don't bolt up the same, I bolted them in temporarily until I can buy some more

Guess that wasn't the best idea

Those have to be under warranty for manufacturer defect considering the weld for the shock tab broke off? I need to watch my shocks cause I ride mine hard but they can only move a inch or two :cheeky: do want esky shifter tho....

Yea mine don't move much which is why I thought it was weird that it broke but once I remembered how I had to bolt it in I knew that's what it was..I needed new shocks anyway as these are for 5" and I'm at 6" now

Well my morning has been a little fucked..
Got on a shitty road and ended up not seeing/hitting this

Everything fits good though, can't wait to get them on the truck

Wait, wtf happened? The sway bar is off, bus why is it sitting too low

Busted my upper balljoint, causing everything to kinda sit down on top of each other
Tired of dealing with so many problems being such low static 4wd, so I'm gonna get some stock spindles and pull the blocks and go back up to 4/7

Damn that sucks dude. Still gonna look good at 4/7 tho. Your LTs actually look better than mine did when they came in. Have fun getting them to fit with the front D/S :bishplz:

I think so too..i love the stance now but im tired of having to fix shit constantly, plus i will be able to keep 4wd functional
Any pictures of what you had to modify around the ds?

Oh I didn't modify, I took out the DS with the intent to modify the Y a little later, then traded the truck in like that  My driver's collector sat RIGHT where the DS goes into the front diff. Like, halfway overlapping the flange if you look from the back. Would've had to either beat in the collector and damn near close off one primary tube or take header off and modify the flange to get it to rotate toward the frame more.

Hang on a sec, I'll find some pics to let you see

Forgot to mention, driver's header also needs to be clearanced for the steering shaft. Just the front primary tube

Actually needed to do a little more, it was still rubbing the steering shaft pretty bad

Here's the collector. You can see the whole collector/couple of primary tubes are entirely in the way. Actually the flange where the DS bolts to the diff was hitting that primary tube, that's how far toward the center of the truck it was
