Cornell's 2007 GMC Derpamax Build Thread

What exactly did you mount the cubes to?

I drilled a hole in the rear leaf spring perch on the tab that slopes down towards the rear of the truck and put them there. I just wired them into the reverse lights in the tail lights for now.

:Holysheet: His truck sleeps in his house in the kitchen  must be a good guard of the front door. Truck looks so sick man...

Mounted front 20" bar... there were already holes that match up perfect, I just had to redrill holes higher up to get teh bar height correct in the opening

Put this connector on the bar for the time being. It is wired in with the fog lights.

Thanks man, I thought that could be a spot to mount them but wasn't sure

And :turborofl: @ the "bucket seat"

Some updates. Well not really I just ordered some more stuff.

Did an Ipad mini in a Harley road king for my buddy's build so I kinda got to experiment with that and its really not hard at all. I'm going the Ipad mini route for the CC and will probably put the AppRadio 2 in the regular cab.

I have already made the fiberglass tray for the Ipad mini (I ordered a dummy ipad mini and ipad 3 on ebay for 30 bucks for mock-up) I may be doing more in the future and wasn't exactly excited about wrapping an ipad mini in painters tape and going over it and around it with fiberglass and resin.

Also because they were so cheap and I HATE sanding, I ordered a bunch of ipad mini plastic snap on cases (they were 2.xx bucks a piece on ebay) and I just cut the lip that makes them snap on with a dremel. Walla! much less fiberglass work and sanding to make the ipad recess flat/straight.

Ordered some mini actuators because my ipad pan is going to be a slider (so it will charge) because you can send the music through BT but I want it to be flush mounted and it will look better IMO with the way the dash is on NBS trucks. Also because the headunit will be elsewhere or not exist at all (depending if I want the fm radio) I went with a 100mm stroke on the actuators so that it will swing open to put crap (storage) where the 2 din used to be.

Made some really good progress on the center console but I really wish I had gone with 10's instead of 12's because they were a bitch to make fit downfiring in a center console... probably more than what it was worth really. If I don't like it when close to done I'm ordering 10's and cutting it up.

Also bought some other 6" linear actuators but that's a secret for how I'm using those.
