05 CCSB slow build

It is to me....the smell will creep into the cab while at a light or in a drive thru and I dont like it. Even my doggehs would sneeze when they were around the exhaust fumes. Cats were only 80ea....not a whole lot of money really for the results others have reported. I might lose a few hp but truck also weights 6k lbs

That's the one thing I hated about the Chevy was the smell, it was nasty AF. Smelled like cat piss lol.

Decision made....finna spend dat money and do it right

Justin did say that a cam will kill cats a lot quicker.....so mighr have something to do with it

What are your cam specs again?

I've been looking at something similar to that or Jesse's for mine. Good to know it eats cats though, I'll go your route and buy the weld in type instead of a more expensive catted y

Jesse's is the max i would go for in a 5.3.....Ive always read anything over .600" (Not saying .60X is bad either) lift starts causing more wear and since most of our trucks are DDs, i wouldnt go above that. Just from reading ive done n whatnot....I think 220/224 or close to that would be nice...pretty much jesse's camb.

the kooks catted Y is nice but u can make any ORY into a catted Y for cheaps, imo. I'll see how long these cats last....havent ready anything bad about them n some people say they pass smog still, others said they failed but greatly reduced the smells. Might have to get my :secret: smog shop to hook it up to the machine but not enter info and do a trial run. :hmm:

Yeah well mine is probably gonna end up being retired from every day duty and just be a cruiser, so I'm not as worried about that. But Def some good info to keep in mind, thanks :shake:
