04 RCSB Silverado Slow Build

:shake:

I know that when there's a lot of snow my truck basically acts a s a snow plow  it isn't the best, but it gets around.

The canned tuner was for the colorado its a diablosport and compatible with multiple vehicles the only shop i know of around here that dyno tunes wanted 700$ so i spent have just to be able to play with how it shifted etc. I thought since I already had one why not try it on the new truck, it didn't work because of my remote start so im selling it. Id love to go 4/6 and like our winters are 50/50. Some winters like now haven't been to bad, others like previous years have been my stock height woulda plowed the snow. I do plan to color match and either clear or tinted corner headlights, i have tossed around the idea of tinted tail lights (hopefully led ones because the truck came with tinted windows, and my back window is pretty much a black mirror and cant seen outa it i know tinting and leds kinda defeat the point but ohwell haha) I do like the idea of roll pan but i know id have to fiddle with the exhaust since i have dual tips and know they would stick out kinda far. The intake came on the truck and so did the exhaust only thing ive done to it was sub box and head unit install. I wanna switch up the exhaust anyway but no clue when thatll happen. Gonna try and find a shop thats not gonna rob me to color match my front end other wise ill be rattle canning it which Im afraid itll look half assed. So many plans so little funds haha

@plugdumps wish I could offer more than an opinion but ur not in NY. Either way they also sell a tinting paint for the tails this way you can choose just how dark you make them. As for the tune that's why I suggested the chip. Pricing for some places are crazy. Jegs has the one for my denali for $265 and its plug and play. It comes tuned for CAI , higher performing coils, free flowing exhaust which would include high flow cats (or no cats) and one more bolt on using 93 octane (which my damn truck requires, fml) and the increase goes from 340hp and 17mpg to 370-375 and 20-21mpg. Those are the numbers that a friend of mine is already getting after his mods. Nothing crazy but more power on a powerful truck while getting better mpgs is a plus to me. And it's minor bolt ons.

What chip are you talking about? Doritos? Lays? Fritos?

Get a real tune. Handheld tuners are junk. Blacking out shit is gay.

Apparently jegs knows something others don't.

Custom tunes are far better and just as accessible as jegs. You don't need a dyno to tune. All a dyno is a tool.

:fp: @ chip talk. 35hp and 4-5mpg increase claims from handhelds are not realistic at all. They literally do nothing for your truck 99% of the time and sometimes can even be harmful cuz they're not specific to your truck. Custom tune or leave it stock. Only way to do it

Listen fellas I gave the guy my opinion and my experiences. 340hp is at the crank not wheels and so is the 375hp. I would appreciate not being treated as a noob and not being treated as a liar. I have seen the work done myself as the truck was done at his shop. I have absolutely nothing to gain by not giving accurate info. Next time I won't add any input.

Also, I have called it a chip multiple times never mentioning a handheld as that is different.

As my last post, below is the link. Read the overview and judge yourself.

Good luck with the build bro

Power wise im good for now. Shes got more than i need. Gotta survive winter first before i even think of adding more power. Only reason i mentioned the tuner was because i wanted to adjust my tire size on this truck so my speedo wont be off

Not saying the info you gave is inaccurate, just posting the fact that "chips" and handhelds are proven to be inferior to custom tunes and are usually comparable in cost; therefore making custom tunes more effective per dollar spent, that's all.

To everyone:

No more shit in the build threads. If you have a gripe refute it with facts, not just "ok" or some other smart ass remark. Keep those to yourself.

Khaos I agreed and still agree with you. My input about chips was geared toward those who don't have the option for a custom but yes you are 100% right

Nope. I tend to avoid situations that would cause it, but I don't think I'm low enough for it to happen unless it was an extreme case.

Messed around in photo shop today and came out with this

Really liking the idea of color matching the winter steelies, and I already know I want to do the front end aswell. I am liking the matched reflectors too, still undecided but hopefully by next winter it will look like above :)
I know shes dirty I washed her 2 days ago :( god damn warm weather in winter.
