Definitely couldn't leave it like that lol. Figured it'd be easier to paint it than worrying if the paint will stick to the chrome

The chrome on the grille is fake chrome, easy as hell to sand off, then it's smooth plastic and you don't have texture to sand off lol. You made more work for yourself

That's most people. All the plastic on my truck I painted I used no filler at all. Fuck all that texture lol.
 
I'm using a combo of both of those methods on mine. 400, filler, 400, 800, then spray. hopefully it comes out alright :rofl:
 
@BOO5TED generally even on a body panel you don't go as far as 1000+ before spraying. Particularly on plastic you want something to get a good adhesion. I could be completely wrong. But my reasoning. There's no OE texture in my plastics left before filler primer. Just a way to be sure I've got a nice even base.
