What enclosure?

the sd-2 isnt classified as a shallow mount but it is more shallow than the rest of the lines. What are the specs on the box?

And like boosted said, building a box yourself would have been better, its extremely easy

SD-2 is suppose to be shallow version of the SA line. Its not a true shallow mount but more shallow than most regular subs.
Box will be roughly .62 cubes in each champer so after displacement im looking to be right on with the requirements of that sundown specifies for this sub. Sealed.
I use to build boxes in highschool for local people, now with college/2 jobs i really dont have time or really place to do it anymore so for me i rather pay to have a box made, local shops didnt want to mess with it or wanted IMO WAY to much money to build one.

I had 3 ontop seat set up including 2 15s back in the high school days
I enjoy audio but not that much anymore i guess lol

Yes, totally agree! First under seat/hidden setup for me and it's hard to find what works with what and room to do anything even though my subs are shallow
thanks, I will post pictures of box and installed/fitment when it comes (2 week build time) so if i haven't posted back by then with pictures remind me.

Do want to see this box, may need to purchase one for myself

sd2 is not shallow version of the sa but its a great sub either way. You will enjoy them. Best sub for a sealed enclosure ive seen yet
Read on sundown. They used the same cone, spider, and surround. It was born to have the same performance as a SA but be more shallow. Also on their page it says shallow mount, IMO its not but thats the way they labeled it

yes, but itll be modified to fit the SD-2 magnet size. Its deep enough just the part that comes up for the magnet its wide enought for the mags on the sd-2.
Also gonna be slighter taller for more excursion room out of the bottom of the box he said.

My main concern would be depth under it for excursion. I've got two sd 8" but plan to go behind the seat because I have my amps under it already. I also want down fire too.

Yea he told me for the SD-2 he likes to have 2" of excursion room. So he told me hes gonna build the box to have that much space under it. Hes done it once before already and the guy didnt have to lift the seat. He told me behind the seat would be a easier build and he could do it BUT ill need high excursion grills to keep the surround from slapping the seat.

We gonna see how it works when i get it all together. I should have the subs tomorrow

I plan to move the seat forward, only need 1" to make the downfire box fit behind the seat.

i considered this, until i sat in my buddies truck who moved his forward. I personally didnt like. Although he said 1" his seemed more like 2" imo

aint nobody got time for baby ass mini boxes under the seats

agree, but iv had 4-5 big builds and have always got rid of them i just want something that sounds good and thats out my way. 2 10s will give me a good surface are and the box will be in spec for sealed. If i dont like it itll only encourage me to do captain rear seats and center box like iv always wanted.

I don't sit back there, only my two kids lol.

same cone and spider doesnt meen anything. All sundown subs have pressed paper cones, Half the sundown lines have medium to highroll surrounds. The sd2 is a 2" coil. The sa is a 2.5" coil. the sd2 8 and 10 i believe have and underhhung coil. The spiders might be the same but the sa has more

Im sorry but your argument is invalid. Just saying

Anyway you need about 1.5-2" in front of the sub
