some days I regret welding in my rollpan too, I feel ya there. why going back to stock tailgate though?
My rear bumper plastic took a fair amount of abuse when it was painted and it did fine. Another vote for bumper and shaved gate.
I think bumpers and shaved gates look a little weird. I just think a painted bezel and chrome pull with a painted cap would flow with the other handles.

good god that thing is hideous, I agree with the gate minus the chrome. My tailgate is CM'd.

Caddy never offered this type of gate. on their EXT tailgate it is like this and that's where I first got the idea

Go back to a fully color matched bumper and shaved gate.
Having a truck with a shaved gas door and shaved stake pockets but a tailgate with a handle will look full fledge re-tar-ded.
If you absolutely want that handle, I would say redo a whole bed, raised floor and keep gas door imo...

he has door handles, how does the shaved gas door and stake pockets make a tailgate handle look retarded? having a shaved gate and door handles seems more retarded.

I LOVE this, matched plastics and bezel with a chrome pull looks tits. Especially on a black truck, that little splash of chrome looks classy
I hate shaved gates with a bumper, it looks like something's out of place. They look good with a rollpan, but otherwise it's just odd to me. BARE MINIMUM you've gotta put the 03+ cap on IMO. Smoothed of courseBecause I think it looks retarded? It's an opinion. I stated it, move on lasagna.

I'm one of those shaved gate+bumper guys I'll take a color matched bumper over a roll pan anyday get that bad boy on there meow.

I have an ss cap (replica) for sale... I was going to install it on my tailgate but I'm not anywhere close to doing the body yet. Plus I think the rear is going a different route.
It's either bumper with handle of some sort or leave it shaved and roll pan. I do not like trucks with shaved gates, no cap, and bumpers. That's my personal preference, and just like the front clip, a lot of people didn't like that I was changing it but when something is done so much you got to change it up, you have to change it to make it unique again.
