Trying to make an old man's 96 ECSB somewhat cool

I've been so busy working trying to save up for dropping the single cab, and I'm in the process of getting a daily so I can tear into both of my trucks and really get some work done on them, so no progress has been made on anything as of recently. I loved my esky cluster, but I hated how off the speedometer was, and there was no way I was going back to stock, so I decided to try out an electroiluminescent gauge cluster. It came with no instructions and was a pain in the ass to figure out how it worked and to wire it into the correct wire for the dimmer switch, but the end result looks pretty sweet imo
 
Jesus, it’s been over 2 years since I’ve updated this. Priorities have been all over the place since I’ve decided to go back to school, so trucks have taken the back seat in life. In early 2018, I dropped the truck from 2/4 to 4/7 and got a shaved gate

It’s still my daily driver, and in the beginning of July, someone backed into it while I was parked at work. Luckily she was honest (allbeit a shitty driver) and she paid in full for the grille and bumper to replaced.

Didn’t have any time for a while to tear the truck apart to fix it for a while, so I looked like a bum until early October when I put in a new Chevy grille with Billet inserts, an original heartbeat Billet bowtie, a new chrome smoothie bumper, and I slapped on the 20” centerlines that I used to have on my single cab

Truck is still my daily, and I’m constantly racking up miles on it. 240k and steadily going up. Hope to be more active on this forum again this year!

Not much has happened with this truck since I last updated in here, but it was retired from being a daily driver Summer of 19 when I got my 93 Jimmy.

In 2020, my dad and I decided after the awful year we had, we wanted to hit the road in November to Arizona to both visit my grandfather and go to Dino’s Git Down. In preparation, aside from maintenance, I lowered the front another inch and went from 275/40s to 245/40s in the front.

It was a fantastic trip. In my typical luck though, the 4L60E grenaded itself 300 miles from home on the drive back from Arizona. After having a nightmare getting the truck towed and finding a rental car to get home, I got the truck back a couple weeks later with a fresh transmission.

Now, in 2021, the truck is finally 25 years old so it’s being put on collector’s insurance so I’m covered if anything happens to it, God forbid. Paint is full of rock chips, and the roof is slowly losing more clear coat, but I love this truck, and it’s not going anywhere.

Looks awesome dude. Dino’s is definitely on my bucket list. It’s quite a haul from Ga though lol

Thanks man! Dino’s was definitely like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. It was almost like sensory overload with hundreds of trucks in every direction. I’d make the long haul again in a heartbeat

Sucks on the transmission but what an awesome trip! Would love to make a trip like that with my Dad.
