SDM Build Thread

Looking good man! This is pretty much mid-travel right?

sent from my glade air freshner

Some don't believe in "mid travel" or call mid travel a +2 kit. It just depends. I just call it built. Tacoma works classifies it as MidTravel.

Also just ordered some M10x1.25x60/70 Allen head bolts. Couldn't find them locally to extend the bump stop so had to order.

always thought it was stock mounts considered it a mid travel and moving mounts was long travel, just kind of as a rule of thumb(makes no sense but most things on the internetz dont)

I'm getting decent with my at home alignment system.

lol I forgot toyotas are on the lowers. Shows how good the tc arms keep the factory geometry though.

Got home and installed these and checked the torque on everything. The lower uniball wasn't loose at all after 400 miles so that's good to see.

Bump extension is 1" it looks like a ton but it's no different than before, the arms are just angled more so the bump location is lower. TC includes a machined bump stop extension at just under 1" but the bolt on the super bumps doesn't work with it. So I made my own extensions from UMHW and a 3" hole saw. Came out great I think. I ended up using the M10x1.25x60 bolts in place of the x70 I ordered as well.

I have an uneducated question. With the strap like that and the bumpstop like that, how much travel do you have?

Some of you know i went to Pismo this past weekend. Here's a few pics from my travels. Along with my blown coilover. Which is being taken to be rebuilt tonight.

Toyota just fails at all kinds of paint  looks good tho, also dig the flag
I think it's a lot of the Japanese manufacturers, not just Toyota. Subaru is notorious for thin clear coats and paint, the front ends get chips very easily.
