SDM Build Thread

i never realized the depth of modifications this beast had. You've done a great job on this build so far. what's coming up on it?

Hoping some 315s when these wear down. I want to get total chaos 3.5 kit and metal tech long travel rear springs and link arms to be able to achieve full travel ability.

that front end looks like it's designed to skull fuck the devil. favorite part of this build.

Damn, never knew how in-depth of a build this was. Makes me like it even more.

10/10 would romp

as most of you know, i went to pismo this past weekend. Discovered i need some new front bump stops and probably a good idea to strap it but i think im ok there. may just do it for extra protection. I also need a new front skid for the diff.

Looking into these bumpstops, heard a lot of good from the owners. Since i dont hit the bumpstop often, i dont need a bump can like other runners.

Also debating on buying lower control arm skids because it allows a bolt area for a strap if i decide to go that route and also protects my alignment cams. A lot of people smash them when wheeling. Local guy who makes the sliders i have makes a nice skid.

Also want to change my rear springs out to some progressive rate springs. The ones i have now are a little stiff for what i want to do and how i like.

thank god those are gone. so much wrong with SPC as a whole DNW.

Back on topic, this thread is cool, I like its current state best.

Sounds like it'll be fun with air bumps and straps :security:

Purchased the long travel progressive rate rear springs. Should be a LOT softer in the rear.

Also got LT rear link bars which are also double the thickness of OEM so will be a ton beefier.

When's front getting done?

fronts not getting LT if at all. No need for it. My front end now is mid travel and it has yet to limit me on what i want to do. If anything LT might make me too wide to go down trails and paths i like to do. It would take away one of the nicer parts of the 4Runner design, which is being somewhat narrow.
