My Lifted DD Sierra

So what happened with all the plans to sell it?

Work kinda screwed those plans up. Was going to get an allowance and be on the road full time, but now i just got an okay raise and am stuck in the office half the time - so no allowance to justify or afford a new truck. Will probably keep it until the end of this year at this point. Getting a new job soon, that will get me back into new-truck world.

I can't stop looking at this picture. You are making me have bad thoughts about what to do to mine.

I've always liked those wheels on there.

Truck looks really good man. Like Geoff I am fond of those Centerlines on it.

Thanks guys, these wheels are my favorite cut. Ill keep em even if Im not running em - although I plan to run em on the next truck.

Love that pic. Need to polish wheels so bad. Keep yours dropped! If not, this is a good budget friendly option.

Looks good Brandon, seems like a fun time!

I've had the same thoughts...it doesn't get easier lol.

Was a blast. Would go again.

I am so torn because I like it low, but miss the carefree feeling of driving something lifted. I am always so worried I will mess this truck up somehow.

After seeing your pics I definitely am entertaining the thought for later down the road. I plan to keep this truck for a long time, so maybe when I am tired of being low I can go up.

Bump, what's polishing process did you do on the snipers?

1 clean the hell out of them, i use some dawn to strip off any product
2 use sandpaper to scuff out any scratches or dings. Start at 400 and go up to 1000+ until the area affected can be polished
3 i like to coat the wheels with a high grit polish by hand, then sprinkle some powder cleaner like 'barkeepers helper' on over the existing polish
4 at a very slow speed get a powerball or rotary polisher and rub in the polish and powder, it will get messy, but its worth it. This procedure cleans the hell out of the bare metal and starts the polishing process
5 after all of the stuff applied on step 3 is gone or rubbed in, polish the whole wheel by hand with the high grit polish
6 wipe all of the product off
7 get a no-grit polish and hit it with a high speed polisher or powerball with higher speed and pressure
8 polish out any remaining cloudy spots with the no grit polish
9 clean off any remaining polish
10 rub on a good sealer
11 enjoy!

That process has saved several sets of billet wheels for me that were TRASHED. If you maintain them by hitting them with a light polish and good seal then a heavy polish will last well over a year. I am mega guilty of not maintaining mine right now, its bad. Soon enough ill work em out though.

Been awhile since an update on the cammed worktruck, nothing has changed really. Almost to 170k now, got it in June of 2011 with 108k :embarassed:, only gunna keep piling on the miles, doing about 2,500mi per month on it lately. Most likely will be up for sale this time next year. Cleaned it up for the Holidays, heres a shot from the warehouse.

Plans for early 2015 are basically to maintain its current shape:
- Re-polish wheels and bumpers
- Add a legit 14" muffler under the cab to quiet it down some more (12" bullet didnt help...at all)
- Re-tint side windows 20%, its all peeling and/or scratched
- Detail in and out, fix a few minor scratches and scuffs from work, get road tar off of the fenders
- Replace headlights housings with new clears or OEM style, not sure yet
- Fix front cover oil leak and re-tune for 87 gas to sell

Fav 4wd on forum now. Love the Stingray's!
