Making an LBZ Look Halfway Decent on a Teenager's Budget

Bought some stuff to start colormatching. Gonna start with the handles. I bought duplicolor brand filler primer, and duplicolor brand base coat and clear coat, along with duplicolor brand adhesion promoter. I figured the handles are so small and my filthy paws will be all over them anyway, rattle cans will suffice. I AM NOT GOING TO RATTLE CAN THE BIG PIECES. I will do those right, when I have moar time and money. Going to Goodguys lonestar throwdown tomorrow. And I forgot to mention that my idler pulley seized up and the belt broke, and trying to take the fan off to get the belt on, my dad broke the pulley the fans is screwed onto, he was kind enough to buy the replacement part ($400). Will have the truck running again on Sunday though. Sucky but its my fault for no replacing the pulley before it happened.

We couldn't figure out any other way to get the fucker on. We were trying to do it in the sears parking lot, at night, because we were supposed to haul a truck the next morning. Ended up getting frustrated and breaking shit. Lesson learned. Anyone else know how the get the belt on?

There it one bolt you have to remove from the fan so you can push it toward your grill then loop it all around the get a 1/2 breaker bar in the tensioner and take the tension off then loop it around the last pully and then let the tensioner go and boom the belt is on

The bolt that holds the fan to the pulley? That's what I'm talking about and we broke that pulley because we had a pry bar in a hole instead of a spanner wrench to hold it still.

just a bolt out of the top of the fan shroud thing ...i dono your probably done by now..

Trucks been running good now. Changed the oil today and holy fuck was the oil filter on tight! Ended up having to punch a screw driver through the filter to turn it. Put rotella t and a Fram filter on it. What is the preferred oil and filters for duramaxes?

Also have a little surprise. I sanded the texture off with 80 grit, then shot filler primer, sanded with 220, shot another coat of filler primer, sanded 220, 320, dry 500, wet 500, and wet 1000. Shot 3 coats of base coat and 6 coats of clear. All duplicolor brand I think it'll turn out good its drying as I'm typing this.

Got the tailgate handle on, I'm really happy with it for the amount of money/time spent doing it. There's a couple low spots I could've prevented but it won't happen again. I'm satisfied.

Should I do the mirrors or handles next? I'm gonna buy the stick on chrome pulls for the handles and tailgate handle. What about mirror caps? All color matched or color matched with chrome cap?
