Lifted 02 Sierra Z71

Ya I'm gonna get 305/55 I was thinking about 295s, but 1) Mickey thompson doesn't make that size and 2) I really miss the width of 305s, I'm kinda disappointed I went with 285s on my 16s

So I've been thinking about a long list of stuff to be done on the truck once I finish up with school May 14th. I'll try to keep it somewhat organized, but some of these things I've been putting off doing for 9 months or more.

-More urgent-
-replace alternator (squeaking like hell)
-change output seal on transfer case (it's leaking now, had a new one for over a year :shakeshead: ) Change fluid in t-case
-redo tail pipe on exhaust to clear my shock, install new 6"x18" stainless tip
-shaved tailgate, power lock, new aluminum tailgate cap (old tailgate got stolen last wednesday)
-repaint roof, front bumper cap, and fix dent in rear rocker
-get bed liner sprayed in
-polish Dunes, get new tires
-rear axle needs new, better positioned hard brake line made
-cut off shock mounts and re-position lower to remove slight binding issue with shock body
-install stainless braided brake lines front and rear
-polish paint, remove swirls and water spots after paintwork is completed

-Near future plans-

-Remove front lift and modify to lower differential full 6"
-regear front and rear axles to 4.56 ratio
-make new traction bars (bent one of my current ones on a two post lift)
-powder teal: mag hytec trans pan, smoothed valve covers, shock clamps, re-do sway bar (I modified it to work upside down), re-do front lift box
-powder teal rear leaf springs
-new hitch receiver, (current factory one is bent pretty bad) powder teal
-chrome trac bars, sway bar links, u-bolts
-factory coating on frame is showing some wear and missing in places, strip frame front to back and repaint semi-gloss black (done while lift and rear axle will be removed)
-get lift shackles, replace 5" block with 3.5" block
-repaint rear axle housing semi-gloss black
-polish driveshaft

I think that about covers everything, I've got a list a mile long but after completing all of this the truck will be almost all new front to back outside. I'm excited, but also dreading the amount of hours of work I know I've created for myself....

damn it lol I already did a rear axle swap. was thinking about a 9.25" front diff swap, but looks like it's more trouble than it's worth, I'll just order some new ring and pinions, plus a front install kit is like $500 from summit

Bump,

Bought some used 33x12.50-20 toyo m/t, really need to polish the wheels now....

And ripped a shock mount off in the rear a few days ago, so now I need to pull the bed and reinforce it, plus relocate all the shock tabs again to allow more travel in the rear shocks.

Made some progress on my urgent needs list in the last few weeks.

-replace alternator (squeaking like hell) installed new 130 amp to replace original 105 amp
-change output seal on transfer case (it's leaking now, had a new one for over a year :shakeshead: ) installed new seal, cleaned oil off the tail housingChange fluid in t-case
-redo tail pipe on exhaust to clear my shock, install new 6"x18" stainless tip added 4" tailpipe from muffler over the axle, clamped tip on temporary, not sure If I will leave it or add a turn to make a stock exit yet?
-shaved tailgate, power lock, new aluminum tailgate cap still working on this one, need to finish welding in the patch and bodywork/paint, flipkit installed with obs handle
-repaint roof, front bumper cap, and fix dent in rear rocker
-get bed liner sprayed in
-polish Dunes, get new tires got two of the wheels polished so far, also bought 33" toyo m/t tires
-rear axle needs new, better positioned hard brake line made
-cut off shock mounts and re-position lower to remove slight binding issue with shock body done after left upper shock mount ripped out of the frame
-install stainless braided brake lines front and rear rear stainless lines installed along with new rotors, pads and parking brake shoes and junkyard suv rear calipers, front stainless lines will be installed when I mount new wheels
-also installed new bushings on torsion bar crossmember

So I'm still waiting on time to finish the tailgate, been driving without for a while now. Front stainless brake lines need to be installed, and eventually have a custom hard line made for the rear axle as the 10 bolt one isn't quite right.

So here's a teaser pic, cleaned the backsides with acid and they came out looking like new.

And got a second left hand wiper arm from the junkyard so I could have dual sprayers on both, and had them blasted and powdered gloss black. Finally getting around to installing today because it started raining.

Got the Dunes polished finally!
Hoping to have tires mounted next weekend.
Had the truck semi clean last week and was going to take pics of the other mods I've done but it rained and ruined all that.

Had to repair curb rash on two wheels, this one was the worst with it all the way around, smoothed out most with a flap disc, then ran over it with 400 grit on a da sander. Used black and green compounds to get the shine, will do a final polish after mounting.

(ignore the messy garage. Dad cleaned out his toolbox in his work truck after 10 years and found a lot of stuff)

That last pic makes the truck look a lot taller than it is, but I have also been thinking about swapping my 5.5" block for a 4" one because I don't like the ride currently.
