Huck's 2006 Sierra Crew

Ok boys. My new job has me driving 360 miles a week not counting weekends now. And at 12mpg hwy and city, that's not working. So I'm gonna drop the truck down. So.

Thinking around a 0/2 with a meaty tire like tony used to have. I wouldn't be opposed to a 2/4 but idk what size tire to look for. Gonna try to find some used and sell my trail grapps.

So. Suggestions on shocks/tire sizes?

No

If you think dropping it is going to get you 30mpg you're mistaken lol

If you really wanna squeeze all the mileage you can out, your gonna just have to run stock pretty much with 17s. The gmc 17s are some of the lightest OEM wheels for our trucks. That and no bigger than a 275 tire. I do think you can gain *some* mileage back by going with lighter wheels and tires. Those nittos are 80 lbs a piece plus and those ltz reps have to weigh a good bit as well. Really don't see you getting over 15 mpg still tho so is it even worth it?

I got 25 area on my 420s. Dat diesel though.

But really the only way you'd get better mpg is with smaller/lighter tires but nothing that would make a huge difference.

I'm buying an s10 (2001 with 220k, for 500 bucks, only needs starter, possibly flywheel) this week, just so I can finally do some shit to my truck, hard to do anything when it has to be together in x amount of hours lol.

Well here's my thinking. Me and courtney are trying to save up for our own place and I'm spending like $400-500/mo in fuel right now.

I can pull the bodylift and sell it (+150ish), sell the trails (~+800ish), decrank the keys/trade for stock keys and decrank, pull the block/add a shackle, and get some used (or even new cuz that size is so common/cheap) and come out with cash in my pocket or break even. Worst case I have to shell out for some shocks.

Tony says he gets 17-18 city and 21 hwy with the heavy 20s. If I costs me a minimal amount or puts money in my pocket and gets that good of mileage, why not?

I would like a 2/4 on some 275/55s but I may have to raise it a cunt hair to clear those. LTZs will stay unless someone wants to trade me something else that's not chrome. I just don't keep up with maintenance enough for chrome right now. Tune will happen too eventually, buddy at work told me about a local guy that does great ride along tunes for like 350
