Tools Needed:
10MM socket
8MM socket
Small flat head (I used one for adjusting sprinklers)
Petroleum Jelly ( I used unscented, didn't want my truck smelling like a used buttplug going down the road)
First remove the plastic engine cover.
Then remove the two 8MM bolts holding the fuel rails onto the intake plenum on each side. (Shown in Green) Then we need to relieve pressure on the fuel system by removing the test port cover (located on the passenger side, shown in red) and pushing in the valve. Note: Make sure you have a towel or rag under since gas will come out.
Remove the top wire loom plate which is held on by 3 10MM bolts.
Remove the 10MM bolt holding the front wire loom plate on.
With both of those removed you should not easily be able to move the wire loom around and be able to lift up on both of the fuel rails, pulling all of the injectors out.
Now to remove the plugs on the injectors themselves slide the lock up and then push in on the tab on the plug and pull out.
To Remove the slide locks holding the injectors onto the fuel rail I stuck the little flat head in the lock and popped them off, you can twist the injectors around if you need. Then you can just pull the injectors out. Keep in mind when you pull each injector out gas will come out so put a towel under the injector.
When installing new injectors make sure to lube both o-rings.
Then just pop them into the plenum
Now you can push the fuel rails onto the injectors both sides at once.
The injector locks slide right into the little grooves on the injector and slide in with the plug facing out
When reconnecting the plugs the lock goes on the in front of the tab that released the plugs not behind.
Then just bolt up everything to took off and start your engine, I turned the key to on to let the fuel system pressurize for a second then turned the truck on.
Thats it.
Total time for me was about 30-40 minutes with people coming by asking what I was doing.
