Just depends how anal you are on what your wheels look like. I dd my truck, rain, dirt, field use, and polish my wheels once or twice a year. If you keep tham from getting any hard water spots then by hand polishing will work fine. But you really need to use a grinder/pad/rouge combo like James put a pic of to get out any good scratches and water spots/etching. Really not hard to do, or find a truck shop or polisher local to you and have them do your wheels.
If you can keep up with hand polishing weekly or very frequent then you won't need to bust out heavy machinery. But like most of us its not possible.

Well got one side of the roof rack on lol. Waiting on a cap to come in to put on the other side

08 Can Am Outlander 800 29.5" outlaws all the way around, snorkeled, exhaust, spacers, strobes, and supposedly tuned and aftermarket axles.
Went down to pick up more SAS parts so I thought I would take some pics. Truck is a mess. All I am waiting on now is the shop to say bring the truck down.
Also got the Escalade roof rack cut down and mounted with color matched caps
