Cal Speed LT install

I reused my oem gaskets, but used a gasket sealant, and reused my stock bolts. no problems whatsoever. didnt want you use the supplied gaskets or cheap bolts. Threw em in the trash.

But overall, im 120% satsified with my headers, I love them. The hp gains with my retune was absolutely worth it.. Now to find a vendor for rear end shit :sigh:

Small update for those who care, I did have to dent my headers very slightly for the steering shaft. It was just barely rubbing, and only when I was past the half-way point while turning left. I noticed it a while back, never did anything till about a week ago, when I had the hood open and figured why not. No leaks as of yet!

damn, that sucks luis. The two kits ive helped install cleared the sheering shaft by atleast an inch, didnt even have to undo it when we did mine, weird...i have noticed that my headers have begun hitting/vibrating against my pass side frame right above the collector, could just need some tweaking underneath the truck.

Ive got a clamp that has a stripped bolt, its not leaking but i had to shift the y-pipe a bit to get it not to do so. Imma order a new one next time i order with jegs or summit. Then ill pry on it a bit if need be.

I've got one of the 3" band clamps if you want it, jegs, brand new. I wasn't able to use it on of the joints. It's yours if you want it, we can meet up in Denton sometime.

Just curious, in case a break a bolt or two, anybody know what thread pitch/length the stock header bolts are? Just to make it easy if we have to go buy some, or I might just get new ones anyway...

I loved how my Stage 8 locking bolts looked. Went well with the ceramic coating of my headers. Some people think its overkill and it probably is, but it adds to the bling factor...dnw pimping on a budget

Huck, please dont re-use your factory bolts. They are garbage, they snap even when little pressure is applied after plenty of soaking. They in need of replacement after one removal. If the kit you buy does not come with new bolts, remove one bolt that is easy to get to and take it to a bolt/hardware store - they can match it up perfectly. I was told a grade three bolt is more than enough for this situation.

mine broke at the head, hope yours dont!

eddie knows it, I forgot it

Yeah no shit. I'm gonna start soaking those things with PB blaster tonight.

Awesome, thanks! That's a little rich for my blood, love how the work and look, but no worth it on this truck. We use em all the time on the race cars tho.

That's what I figure. They're in such danger of snapping just by taking them off, I don't wanna try to put em back on a re-torque only to have them snap. James said the bolts that come with it are cheap so I'll probably just go to Ace and get some. Might step up to grade 5 for good measure

I thought they were cheap too, but i went to the local bolt store to buy new ones for jared and I when i told the guy what i was using them for and how much i was torquing them he said theres no need for bolts other than the ones included. The ones included in the kit will be fine IMO - but its your truck.
