I'm leaving this here, hoping it'll help someone else down the road. I would have paid someone for this info.

LONG STORY SHORT, I installed a Chinese Android head unit in my 2015 Sierra. I'm thoroughly impressed with it, and I love the fact that I have an android tablet in my dash.

What I had issues with however was the total lack of instructions for installing this thing. I was originally sent the wrong wiring harnesses, etc. I was finally at a point where everything was working except my steering controls. The seller was dragging his feet on sending me the correct T harness for the clock-spring so I began my search to figure out which wire I had to tap under the steering column. I found this thread: https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/to...-steering-wheel-controls-io5-stereo-retrofit/

And what I was looking for is pictured below. I tapped the green wire in pin 2 of the clockspring connector, under the steering column with a T-tap and ran it to the Can Bus box from China, set the manufacturer for my truck in the factory settings of the head unit/tablet and they worked INSTANTLY. Even retained the factory external temperature sensor data lol.

This is why forums are better than Facebook.

Would like to look into this as well. My IntelliLink on the 2015 is slow and has terrible maps and connectivity compared to '16+. I'm looking to upgrade but dont wanna pay that MVI price.
This is the exact radio that I bought.

I got mine from Ali Express back in the day though because eBay didn't have the big dog processor and extra RAM available, and I didn't want my apps to lag. It runs SMOOTH. It's just an Android tablet for your dash, with proper head unit outputs on the back side.

Okay I got the same unit and I'm having the same problem. I tapped into the wire and it's going to the can bus. But which options did you choose for the protocol settings/cam bus? There's a lot of different options to choose.

I got the same situation I have the proper plug to split the line to the can bus. In the settings what manufacturer in option did you choose?

1. Make sure you choose the correct brand of Can Bus adapter that you got with your unit.

2. What year is your truck? I see auto climate controls, so you'll want the Silverado (mid/high)

The can bus is a simple soft, which is xinpu. But the Raise option has the same software version number that is printed on the can bus. They both partially connect, but no SW controls or car light recognition. I have a 2014 Silverado LT

I see the speaker for the chime is in that Can-bus. Is the door chime beeping like it should?

Check the steering wheel control options in the head unit. Might be under (SWC) as well. There are slight difference in your OS compared to mine. You might have to map the function of each button yourself, like I have to do in my Atoto in my 06 Escalade.
