Didn't have the cash for concrete when we moved the house there. Was part of my grandpa's pasture, dad got a house moved there, him and my grandpa remodeled it over 5 years or so in afternoons and weekends to upgrade from the trailer we lived in when I was real young.

I've lived in a place or two without a real driveway, unless you consider rocks a driveway?

It has a small load of rocks but over the years it's washed out. Grandparents live shouting distance away and have a concrete driveway so just always used theirs to wash rides and I just avoided mud when ride was clean.
