This past weekend, I attended my first TROG. It was a different experience that I really enjoyed. Watching all of the old tin try and get traction on the beach and all the bikes fighting the ruts was cool as hell. I will definitely be going back again next year.
It's a 3 day event. Friday night, they have a chopper show at Binn's Motor Inn, across the street from the beach entrance. I've never seen so many Panheads in one spot. Out of the 30 or so bikes in the show, at least 22 were Pans. Saturday, they race, get a feel for the beach and the conditions, and then have a huge party with a bonfire that night. Sunday, they bracket race and find out who is the fastest of the weekend.
Overall it's a great event with a large emphasis on keeping the spirit of old school racing alive as well as the camaraderie that goes along with it.
Here's some of my favorite pics that I took, full album link below.
