Swapping diff year taillights

I've read it somewhere on here but can't find it and couldn't find a thread for it. So if I wanted to get 04+ tails, don't you have to swap the connectors? Do you just cut the olds one off and wire the news ones in, or is it more to it?

You can convert them or buy the new harness. Either way works

I just cut the holes on the tailight and made the old ones fit. Never had moisture problems or anything

easiest way, is to just buy the harness, its then plug and play, much easier

Buy harness plugs into bottom of bed near rear bumper is easiest. When I put 03 tails in my 99 like 7 years ago I didn't know this. So I just shaved the light sockets a bit, made them fit. Got a universal 194 connector and added to to the marker lights the newer trucks have.

i got my 04+ tails a few years back from eBay $50 shipped and they came with the harnesses. The harnesses were not even mentioned in the description or title. Bonus!
