SDM Build Thread

Ordering this one, the handlebars wont be anywhere near the sub, they're in the roof. Always mounted in the racks. Only thing that could hit it, is a suitcase or something else im carrying.

After this past weekend romping I had to do a little clean up.

Rotated my tires and replaced my rotors and pads in the rear and then pounded over my pinch welds and seam sealed them. Also shot a paint coat on to clean it up. Cleared up around 3" more of space and less chance to shred a tire.

Recently bought all new hubs, bearings and dust shields. Ive been fighting a vibration that wont go away and i know for sure the wheels/tires are balanced and my alignment is right. All suspension parts and joints are brand new so the last thing is the hubs. Timken hubs with Toyota bolts, pre pressed so all i have to do is install. Ill be replacing the CV axles while i have it torn apart as a good winter prep. All of these are original so 140k on OEM is fine by me.

Installed all the goodies above and recently got stock spindles as a spare set. I'm going to gusset and paint those then install. Will greatly improve strength.

What does gusset mean? Painted black I assume?

question.

does anyone have issues with them cracking or breaking off because youre welding to cast?

not thats been posted anyway. Everyone screams to gusset before you do ANY type of harder offroad and beat on it. There has been tons of bent spindles and broken spindles prior to gusseting. But no damage since.
