Is that really necessary? Serious question, how is that better than 1 big, well designed and built turbo?

Depending on how big "big" is, you can run into huge spool times and turbo lag from what I understand.

Usually diesel guys who run twins will either run the same size or two different sizes. Two sizes allows for the quick spooling capabilities of a small turbo and the big power capabilities of the large turbo.

that brown NNBS isnt a bad looking truck, a few small mods it would be clean

Agreed, love the way it looks, few small changes and it'd be perfect. Just not a fan of NNBS's, so DNW lol

It depends on usage. I agree quad turbos are wayy overkill, but for anything but all out race use, twins are thought of as better. Mainly because you can flow HUGE amounts of air, keep your turbo lag down, and not have to work the turbos as hard as a big single setup. Usually, the setup is a smaller turbo feeding a larger turbo. The smaller turbo is used for quick spool-up, immediate power delivery, and pre-spooling the big turbo and then the big turbo is used for top end pull.

This is probably just one of those "wow" factor builds. I highly doubt quads would be any better that twins unless you're just running such a ridiculously big/powerful motor that each bank needs twins. Even Gale Banks usually sticks to "just" twins.

**you're right Chris, one large turbo usually has STUPID lag time so they're used for all out drag/pull trucks. Good example, my dad's early '98 12V Cummins has stupid lag time cuz it's got quite a big factory turbo. You can floor it, count to 5 and then it'll take off

Do you work for a hotshot company around DFW?

no. I rode along with my friend last summer and helped load/strap/unstrap/unload/navigate and drove when the trailer was empty. I also helped my brother get started with a gas distribution company but I haven't started hotshot myself yet. I'm getting things lined up early so that as soon as I turn 18, I can get on the road. That's why I was trying to get a diesel.
