I know a few people here have painted bumpers. How much are people paying shops to do this front and rear? I also have ears of people puling them apart and having the chrome parts blasted then painted?

I had my rears powdercoated a couple years back, I know it was under $100 to have them done. Cut me a deal because the shop dicked around with them for so long. When you do those, instead of using rivets to put them back on, get some 1/4in. nuts and bolts and bolt them on.

All my chrome has always been sandblasted before paint. Never had any chipping or peeling issues

One body shop wanted me to buy new bumpers Instead of painting the chrome. They said blasting would warp the bumpers. Ill take my Chances and blast the chrome.

any decent paint man can paint over chrome no problem and not have any issues with it... (old truck)

Ok getting ready to pull the bumpers but my question is this. I added the black billet grille and now want to paint the surround. I am thinking black just to break up so much silver. Or I could go with silver to match everything else?

I vote silver to color match. Look at the april voting at cubbys gmc (i do not feel like going back to see his username on here with the all black and silver grill) yours will be just the opposite. I think it would look better silver.
