Le slicksierra build thread

lol i dont need to go fast its bad enough in my audi

bish goes 80 in 3rd and not even redlined, with 3 more gears to go. and gets smoother the faster you go. just wish it had more torque

Is Audi fwd or awd cuz if only front you definitely do not want more torque I know this from experience

Exposed beam shot from about 35 feet as you can see the LED is much less focused.

The instant on is great, the color temp is also nice but as you can see, the intensity at distance is not there for highbeam. If that had some way to tighten up the beam then it would be a different story. These act as more of flood lights which for me, is not what I want in a highbeam application. I actually wanna be able to see further down the road and not just more light right in front of me. Plus I accidentally ordered a motorcycle based kit so the the price point I got it for with the lifetime warranty was for just the one bulb.

How's that "short" shifter feel? Gonna have to check it out next time we all meet up.

It's so much shorter dude. Very notchy as well. Shifter has a whole different feel than the stock and slp versions, as well as different placement. It's extremely tight too probably because it's brand new but gonna order a t handle so I can throw it around a little better

Also need to open up my retro on the headlights. The alignment between the low beam and the high beam is way off. Need to space out the bottom of the projectors with a few washers to bring the beams a little closer together in height because right now it's either aim lows at the found and have good highs or aim lows at proper height and use highs as tree beams lol

mines that way a little bit, but fuck it, the projector covers more ground so i can have the highs pointed up a little bit.

I just tore it open and re adjusted the retro. Put two washers on each side, on the bottom of each plate to push the projector up so its more level with the highbeam. Results were fantastic. Now I have usable halogen highbeam again, and less of a headlight gap against the grille. The hotspot for the highbeams is right above the cutoff, perfect spot for them. I also widened the beam since the denalis only adjust vertically, I placed one washer on each outer side of the housing, at the point where the plate attaches to the housing to spread the beams out more to get more width. Worked swimmingly and sealed up just the same with silicone.

I also did some color tuning in the projectors. Disassembled them and used aluminum tape to block the squirrel finders and the spaced out the lens on one projector to get more of a color band. Results were also great I have more color then before and at a distance the blue/purple band looks awesome.

I have this retro so dialed in now I'm not sure if I wanna tear it all apart to install the 7.0 versions.
New bulbs though next week since one of the return wires is cracked on one of my bulbs.

Just installed new speakers in the truck holy shit. Even the base Rockford Fosgates blow the old crutchfield house brand out of the water. Went with R1675x2 speakers. Basically a 6.75 2 way. 93 db sensitivity iirc perfect for HU power. Ditched the shitty crutchfield brackets that just break and rattle after a few months and just bolted these speakers right to the door. 10/10 lol
