[Khaos]

This will be a slow, budget-minded build until I am done with college. With that, onto the pictars.

Sold my '01 1500HD in November because
1) I didn't need an HD
2) Gas sucked
3) I wanted something different
4) I owed on it

Specs on the new truck:

- 2004 GMC RCSB 2WD 4.8 5spd with 82kmi
- Old man topper (will be staying for the winter months)
- No power anything inside
- A broken CD player, so I'm stuck with the radio for now
- The awesome grey valance
- Baller-as-fuck stock 16's



How it sat on the used car lot:

I will definitely be doing this soon.

So, as of right now, the mod list is this:

- Debadged
- Demoulded
- 5000k Lows & Highs from Spencer
- LED Dome light
- LED Reverse Lights
- Pioneer 4300DVD
- 194 bulb sockets for the footwell light mod
- Tint
- Esky Handles
- Short Center Console
- Cleared Corners/ HL's
- Switchbacks

Waiting to be done/installed:
- VHT Red to candy my tails
- Tailgate handle relocator
- 18" Magnaflow

Future Plans:
- 4/6 with McG Parts & Belltech shocks
- OEM 20's (if I could ever find a set around me)
- Tune
- LT's & whole new exhaust setup
- I would like a cam, but then again I could just put the money towards a 6.0 :burnout:

Been behind on updates lately, so here's a post full of them:

-P4300DVD is installed
-Billet Antenna is on (thanks again Jared!)
-Foot well light mod is complete
-Windows are tinted - 18% roll downs, 5% rear, 5% brow
-Clear corners should be here tomorrow or Tuesday
-Esky Door and Tailgate handles are on order

Got the console in!

Overall it was an easy swap. The part that took the longest was finding sockets to fir the seat nuts & bolts :crazy:

I love it so far, and it isn't as low as I thought it would be, so I didn't completely lose an armrest. I still want to do a full power heated leather bucket swap down the road with armrests, but for now I'll live. And seeing as it in a 99-02 console in an 03+ truck, the color of the plastics are off, but it isn't as noticeable compared to a full console.

Long time no update! Well, that's because I really don't have much of an update for y'all, just been busy with school and 2 jobs.

Since the last update:
-DRL > parking Light mod
-Switchbacks
-Spencer's highs & lows
-Bought a set of cleared headlights off of gmc00z...gonna clear mine at some point
-hacked off the exhaust pipe that was hanging down so it looks cleaner
-custom driver-side bed ding courtesy of a mailbox and shitty roads kay2:

And finally today took about 4 hours and detailed the truck for the first time:

I still have plans to colormatch the mirrors and valance, as well as shave the tailgate, but that wont be until this semester is over and I can afford to be without the truck for a week...seeing as the bed will be getting fixed as well.

Mixed 60hwy/40city& town driving I get about 16.5-17. All highway I'm over 20, but I've only taken one full highway trip so I can't give a solid number for sure.

Yeah I saw it when it was first posted and was like DFW but fuck that price. I literally got it for half of that, so I am more than happy with the purchase. It took a huge load off my shoulders with the truck payment and worse gas mileage of the HD.

Exactly. Everyone around here wants stupid money for high mileage trucks and I wasn't gonna pay it. I almost considered getting a Mazda Speed3 Hatch with the 2.3T/manual combo...but I didn't want the payment again

Thanks, though I absolutely hate looking at it being stock height. I have about 1/4 of the money saved for my drop so far, so that's coming along I guess. I'm hoping to order everything by the end of may, if not sooner.

Yup, fine line has done my last 3 trucks with no problems. He isn't the most expensive around, but definitely not the cheapest. Overall Jason (the guy who owns/operates it) is an awesome dude to deal with.

Mine was just over $200 with a tip. I bullshitted with the guy for a while too and he gave me the rest of his bottle of tint/window cleaner.

Thanks man. Been debating selling the topper to fund drop parts :laugh: I don't even know how much they go for though. I'll see where my funds are at in a month or so, then decide on selling it or not.

I've been tossing around the idea of knocking quite a few things out at once when the time comes:

-take my bed off, fix the dent on drivers side, fix tailgate, shave gate, spray everything at once.
-colormatch valance/mirrors/bumper plastics while paint is mixed & being shot.
-candy tails during downtime.
-install notch/flip kit/shocks/exhaust while bed is off & maybe clean up frame.
-install spindles/coils/shocks up front at the end-ish.

I figure on the truck being out of commission for a week. No sense in rushing anything seeing as it is my first time installing any drop parts, plastic prep & paint, cleaning up the frame, etc. Plus any misc parts or fixes that need to be done at the time.

Anything anyone would suggest doing when installing all this stuff? Anything specific to replace? The truck will have close to 100kmi when this goes down. And while I have the bed off? (If I go this route, still undecided).

Sold le topper today to a local guy. Quickest & easiest CL sale ever :laugh:

The drop fund is getting larger, if all goes well with the quad I'm fixing I'll be ordering my parts within the next month!
