My brakes have been screaming here lately, the dealer I bought it from put new pads on and they only lasted 12k miles :ayfkm: Turns our they were the cheapest duralast ones you could get and the rotors had had pad after pad after pad on them. I only had about 1-2 mils left on the pads and the rotors had the deepest grooves I’ve ever seen on them.
My dad gets a hookup through a local NAPA because he dealt with them for years through the school system he worked for so I got him to order me everything for the 05+ pickup brakes.
2 NAPA fleet HD 13” rotors
2 NAPA premium stock rears
2 sets of their Adaptive One ceramic pads
2 rebuild 05+ truck calipers
1 T55 torx socket to get the stock front calipers off
$417 with the core charge
Also got some Russell braided lines from Tony for $0 since I gave him my new OEM lines when we lifted his truck.
And forgot some stuff so had to stop at Pep Boys by my house for the rest.
1 big fan of brake fluid
1 can of red high heat paint
1 tune of anti seize
2 cans of brake clean
$24
So the whole upgrade will be less than $400 after I get the core charge back. Not too shabby IMO
So far, it definitely stops better, I can feel the extra braking power. But after the initial grab, the pedal fades a bit and I have to put more leg in it. Gotta bleed the whole system again (I only had time to bleed the fronts). But overall I’m very happy
