Most of you know, I sold the Sierra at the beginning of November and picked up that white 04 Tahoe. Did not a damn thing to that truck and good thing since some bitch turned in front of me and totalled it.

So anyways, picked up this 04 Yukon shorty at a local dealer. 181k when I picked it up, super clean with just a few minor issues. I've started modding it so I figured I'd start a thread

Since then I've done:
-New fog lights
-HIDs, were supposed to be 6000k, got 8000k. Cleared Denalis with TRS 6500k will come soon
-22x9 Denali wheels with 285/45/22 Toyo Proxes STs
-Removed RH torsion bar bolt, LH bolt only has 4 turns in it to even out the measurements
-Belltech 3-4" rear spring/shock relocators/bumpstops
-Belltech SP shocks
-Belltech sway bars front and rear

Truck sits pretty close to level with a full tank of fuel
34....34 3/16
34 1/16....33 15/16

Have an old double din from Tony to throw in as well as the wiring/chime adaptors/etc from Brian.

Next project will be the wheels. Dude I bought them from said he used "mag wheel cleaner on them and messed the finish up". There is some shit caked on but I've gotten some off already with just compound and a power cone so I'm gonna try to finish them on Friday or Sunday and detail the truck. There's some minor curb rash on a couple but I'm not too bothered by it.

The first pic is the worst wheel that I haven't touched, the last is the nicest wheel that I've worked on some and it has the spike lugs still, had to take them all off after that pic for the alignment machine tomorrow

Needs a bgray grill.

Not sure what I wanna do yet, might do that, might colormatch the emblem, might get a billet grille, can't decide.

Thanks guys! So far, I've just barely scrubbed in the rear but I've discovered I need to either trim my rear bumpstops or do what they call the "free travel mod" which is removing the bump stop bracket and all and just putting a small bump pad on the frame. Nets about 6" of extra travel. Right now I'm riding about 1/2-3/4" from the bumpstops

Free Travel mod, Corsa Tip, Dynatech Split flow, LED tails, cleared headlights and retrofit (not like Tony can't help you do it), and color match that emblem.

I still have all the retro stuff I bought from Ginger for the Sierra lol. Just gotta buy some bulbs for it. Definitely gonna do the free travel mod, just gotta wait for a weekend that we have nothing planned and when I only have 1/8 tank of fuel or so, so I can drop the tank to get to the drivers side bracket easier

What's the free travel mod. Saw it mentioned on the Yukon forum

If you take your rear wheels off and look at the bumpstops, the bracket that holds them is what you want to cut off. Once it's removed, there's a nice arch in the frame for the axle to move up in and a flat spot at the top that's perfect for a small bump puck. It gains you an extra like 4-5" of travel IIRC

Be careful with the free travel mod, if you bottom out on the shocks it will tear them up or the mounts. I know you probably won't be launching this but something to keep in mind. Looks good dropped tho

:shake: Good to know, before I do it I'll measure collapsed length on the shocks and order the appropriate pucks

Tried buffing the wheels today, didn't work. Apparently whatever he used started eating through the clear/paint rather than being on top like I thought. So I just sealed them and put the spikes back on. I'll look at getting them refinished at a later date. Kinda bummed but can't complain too much considering I got 22s with brand new tires for 900. Even after refinishing I'll be in them for way less than buying it all new.

Also buffed my tail lights, they were really hazed. Just to hold over till I buy some LED ones

Local guy has those same wheels and the finish was totalled on them. I saw him the other day and now they are all black.

Ew. Tony says they have a wheel guy they use at work that charges $160 a wheel. Might go that route. They're only noticeable from like closer than 5 feet though so I'll probably just rock them for a good while
