i find that i jack it up just enough for a pry bar under the tires and pry on it, the more leverage makes it easier for you to put the stress to show its starting to wear outI'd like to add, the ball joint trick is not an accurate way. I did that SEVERAL times and never had a sign of a bad ball joint.
Also, I was under the impression you were not to fool with the adjuster. Or was that on different steering applications?
