I never have it in D unless I'm on the highway. I leave it in 3 around town. Dnw shifting in/out of over drive and dnw converter locking and unlocking all the time.
The only time I manually shift is if my truck will not drop down to the gear I want at WOT. So if I'm running 70MPH and want to go fast, I manually shift to 2, because if I didn't it would downshift to 3.
Hmmm. Tried this on my way home tonight. Cruising 45mph my drone was noticeably less running about 2k rpms
