How you like the Eotech sights Jared? I'm guessing a lot since both the AR's have them. Wiffeh is getting me an AR for Christmas and I need some sort of sights for it and think I want a holographic sight vs a scope since I won't be shooting at anything more than 100 yds.

EDIT: Currently looking at the 516 due to the buttons on the side just in case I wanted to slip a mangnifier on it at some time also, but am thinking the length may be a problem to run a magnifier.
 
I only have one, I swapped when my upper wasn't done and I wanted to test my wife's ar out with the eotech. But I still love it. It was seriously dead on at 50yds or so right out of the box, best part was I only paid $265 shipped new. You can mount it further up, just make sure the mount stays on the actual receiver and not the hand guards, if you didn't know that.
 
Where did you find that deal at? I am pretty much dead-set on an Eotech now, but $450 is the best I can find. Pretty sure that was a one-time deal, but if not mind sharing where you found it at?
 
amazon, it was on sale, I had a 20% coupon, and then signed up for an amazon credit card, which gave me $50 off. It should have been less, but amazon started charging tax on Texas items a couple weeks before my purchase! No biggie, it was still cheaper than any where else. Get on slickguns, they have deals on them periodically

excuse the ugly upper, guy I built it for didn't want to go with a billet upper, even after my recommendation. His problem now.
