Just a few questions guys. Ive been through enough setups with my tahoe but this is my first with leaf springs on a nbs.

My set up is DJM arms and drop keys in front, moog uppers with offset bearings, flip kit in rear. Supposed to be a safe 4/6. Im tucking tire all the way around, but im on 31" tires

Right now im 16 1/8" hub to fender on both fronts, 14 3/8" drivers rear and 15 3/8" on pass rear. so im over an inch and a half low in the drivers rear and about half an inch on pass rear.

So either way im low in the rear. I dont want to do a full inch in the rear on the pass side since i will be higher than the front. I could probably live with the .5" lower.

Drivers rear should i do a shackle to bring it up an inch? This will bring my pass front down, so i will have to readjust and get another alignment im guessing? I could live with that i suppose.

I dont think I can go any lower in the front than where im at. Im about 16" hub to fender. is this normal for a 4" front drop on a v8 torsion bar? I could maybe go down 1/4" in front to level it out more, but what do you think? tie rods are still pretty decent i feel.

What do you guys think I should do? I could run spindles and put my stock keys back in when i get wheels, but thats not going to help my CV and idk if that will help my top bj angle?

It aligned perfect, but its pretty much at the end of the adjustment. These are moog arms with offset bushings to gain more adjustment.

hard to see with the lighting, but its definatly low in the rear

pretty bad angles already (I think, especially since I will be doing 4x4 launches. even with the offset bushings, im still almost maxed)

Imo raise the passenger rear up an inch..had to do the same on mine, I wouldnt go any lower in the front. 4" is about as low as you wanna go to keep from binding cv's

I just read where Brett posted about drop arms and drop spindles not working well together and causing bumpsteer, so I'd stay away from that imo. And x2 to dakota, raise the pass side and inch

you mean drivers rear? (maybe i typed it wrong)

I was told that with the right spindles (cant remember if it was belltech or djm, i know one sucks) that i would be ok with arms, stock keys, and spindes. But i really dont want to go any lower in the front. I think I should be OK where im at.

I guess i didnt realize that the lift shackles go in 1/2" increments, so I can go 1/2 on the pass side and 1.5" on the drivers side and be sitting at about 16" all the way around.

I have djm 3" arms and mcg 17+ 2" spindles and the bumpsteer is really bad on certain roads at around 50-60..going faster its not as bad, 16" all the way around would be 3.5/5.5 drop

you think so? i will be above a 4/6 at that point and even with a 1.5" lift in the rear i will still be low..

I just need to find the right lift shackles that offer .5 increments to get it where i want..it does have 330k miles on it so im sure the leaf springs and t bars have a bit of sag to them

im not too worried about the front right now, the angles could be a lot worse, and on a 4x4 launch, it will lift the front a bit with weight transfer, so it wont be as terrible..if i start blowing cvs apart then i will go from there..they are the only thing that hasnt been torn apart or replaced anyway haha

i must suck at measuring..when measuring ground to fender i am just below 30 in the front, 28.5 on drivers rear and 29.5 in pass rear...thats on 265/75/16 tires so 31.5 or so..

would be much easier if i was 2wd lol..I know there are starting to be some kits out there for 4x4, but im not sure how those work on djm arms, and on stock arms i dont think you would be able to get low enough and keep any kind of geometry.

unless you are talking about the rear...some day thats the plan. baby steps

Stock fender to hub is 19.5 front and 21.5 rear so my numbers were based off that lol

ya i should have written down what i measured this at stock..i do know that 4" in the front and 6" in the rear was still above the tire, and im tucking tire on all 4 corners now

either way im happy with it, just gotta get that drivers rear up a bit and ill be happy..

no, there are a few guys on pt.net that are 4x4 with coilovers. Atomic is one that comes to mind

ya i read Atomics thread..but he is close to stock height..i haven't seen anyone 4+ drop on coilovers with a 4x4 yet that i can think of..im fine with the torsion bars in front, i have adjustability once i get the rear sitting right..either way i have a CV angle to worry about weather im on coilovers or tbars

you just figure out your spring rates, and call ridetech and tell them your style shock needed and tell them you want a drop, so spring length, and spring rate will help you, along with shock length, can be done!
