My friend cashed in his detail coupon after helping me so much fabricating items on the 4runner. He had just finished a 2 year rebuild of the suspension. Lots of cutting/grinding and fabricating so there was a lot of fallout and the paint was rough. For those that dont know yet (ive discussed before), he swapped to 08 axles with carli front coilover kit with front and rear 3 tube bypasses. The front bypasses are currently off being revalved.

APC Wash
IronX soak
Medium Clay
Shine Supply Classic Cut
Medium cut foam pad
SCG Pro Acrylic Sealant
Carpro PERL
GYEON RIM coating

They aren't fast by any means. Had a 95 cc dually for a work truck. Good and reliable truck. Never had any major issues the 2 years I drove it. Wish I had the money to buy it when he sold it

I mean.... I get it, looks wise they’re my favorite. But that 7.3 isn’t as amazing as people think. And you could buy a newer dmax for less cash than a cleanish obs ‍♂️
DNW new DMAX nor smog. the 7.3 can be made fast, local guy has a 12 second one but its a lot of work.

Smog isn’t going to shy me away from a diesel. The newer motors are more reliable and make really good power. Rollin coal is for the birds dude. I just want them mpg’s and towing ability. The Sierra gets like 14 with my boat. Parents just bought a ‘16 dmax ccsb and that thing gets 21 towing they’re 30’ trailer DFW

Back on topic. Well done on the detail, come do mine next

DEF is for people who like Dick

I had zero DEF issues with the Silverado nor the Ram but I know of a lot that did. My buddy traded in his 05 CCLB Sierra Dmax dually for a 15 CCLB Denali Dmax dually and went from like 19 mpgs pulling his two car trailer to like 9-11 mpgs. He also had two instances of DEF coming in through his vents. He ended up selling his trailer for a single car and trading the Denali for a 1/2 ton 6.2 Denali. Says he is happier.

That's my main argument against it. Sure, it may make tailpipe emissions cleaner, but what's the point when you cut the mileage in half? The trucks would last a whole lot longer, have fewer issues, and pollute less overall if the regulation was scaled back to a sensible level that allowed 20+mpgs

We have 3 2016 F250s at work an have had zero DEF problems. But all have been in for AC issues and one has been in twice for a water leak inside the cab.
