Electric impacts?

How many people here use these electrics back-to-back with pneumatic?
I'm right now on the fence at which direction I should spend my money.
Pneumatic kind of limits me on location of use though...
Looking at drivers too and unsure if I'll go with a reg. size 18v or the small pistol size 12v.

pops has dewalt, i have crapsman....both of us have lithium ions....perform very similar but his batts last a lil longer than mine. I used air and i dont like the noise, fgt hose and weight. I take my impact with me on trips and have a power inverter i can use if i wanna charge it.
I was looking at one at Home Depot earlier today, been wanting one but can't justify spending $130+ for a good one. Guess I need I need to break down and just buy one. From what I've heard they're worth the money.

Good point. I do have a 60gal compressor and some other air tools, but with today's battery technologies I think I'll get a Li-ion first to replace my old plug in impact.
I personally don't buy tools from home depot... have heard they are made cheaper when supplied to them, similar to name brand tires sold by Walmart...
...but that's just my preference, for some reason home cheapo bugs me. I also shop for some shit at HF too, lol, so call me a hypocrite.
Right now I'm looking at hardware sales inc. ( unless someone else knows some better online tool retailers).... will probably place an order with either of them next week after some research. Many of my power tools are so damn old hand me downs, I gotta splurge some tax money this year. Looking at Impact, smaller driver/electric ratchet, and an angle grinder. Just bought a new recip. saw.

Eh. To each their own. I've bought tools from HF, Home Depot, lowes, sears, etc., never had a problem with any. Other than the ratchets from sears, they seem to break quite often. I'm a firm believer in getting what you pay for, but buying the most expensive doesn't always mean you're getting the best IMO.

I'd love a portable impact. That being said, if you're gonna do it, I'd get the 18v or 19.2v(iirc). Never hurts to have more power there when you need it.
Yeah I hear ya. Idk, I'm just a home depot skeptic at the moment haha, maybe that's why they bug me cuz they want me to believe their shit is the best and I should pay the price... but I don't. :bertstare:
If I end up being able to afford it, ideally I'd get the half inch with the big battery... but it'd also be nice to get a smaller impact driver with the compact light pistol shape but with smaller battery so I can work on more common stuff in tighter spaces, and carry it on my belt in a holster with my initials on it like a bauce.
Or maybe I'll try one of those cordless ratchets like the Milwaukee. Idk yet.
Also looking at amp hours on batteries too, not just V rating. Seems like there is typically 3.0, but also 5.x, but seems prices jump like a hundo for that extra battery life!
have a buddy that has the Snap-On 18v 1/2", i keep it at my house sometimes. works great popping most anything off, easilly popped off my engine mounts on my 4wheeler and easilly pops off mu lugs nuts on my truck. battery seems to last a while too. only problem is the size, hard to get in tight spaces, but hell its a 1/2" what do you expect
Which one do you have, the one with the friction ring, or the detent pin?
I'm definitely liking brushless stuff, may pick up one of these just because Milwaukee has so many other tools that run off the same battery!
When I was a tech I used my cordless more than my air, both Snap On both are awesome just didnt like dragging the hose around just to rotate tires, if I had to get into a tighter spot I used my 3/8 air Snap On and it would get it. Now that I don't have a compressor I LOVE having my cordless.
