Discussion: 2003-2007 GMT800 (NBS) LED cluster conversion

Thought I would share some knowledge from what I've done.

I have done this set up in my old truck but noticed hot spots. Another member from a forum used an led strip and that's what I went with on my crew cab. Came out awesome imo. Doing this requires no resistors.

Anyone know if these would work as well? I've see the us speedo 360 led cube. Wasn't sure how they would be since they are 30 degrees

3mm 12V LED - White R300TW4D

12V LED - 5mm White R500TW4D

This is what I followed

And here is mine. Also put some in the AC controls.

Do you have any pics of the inside of yours since you have the trans temp gauge and the pictures if the open one dont?

James do you have any pics of the inside of the ac panel?

No Didn't take any. I did a set of 6 leds on the bottom left and then a set of 3 on the right because there is a screw that you need to leave space for. then I did a set of 3 on each side of the knobs. Haven't gotten around to doing the fan speed or the auto

No all I did was outline the trans gauge area. I wrapped it around the whole circular area

Did you use multiple strips? Or one long one?

Ordered a strip of LEDs from v-led just moments ago....LEDs in my cluster are go!!!

Any one have pictures of what the inside of the digital climate control looks like? The auto light in mine is burnt out and some of the other areas look dim.

I'll get you one of mine that fryed lol

Here ya go, still had some led strip in there so I took some with where they are located in my current set up. the strip on the bottom left gets in the way of the button to circulate the air inside the cab. Now I did cut the rubber piece on the bottom on this one but on the one in my truck I just put the led strip directly on top of it and so it was flush with the bottom edge.

Is there a greenish tint to it? I know that there is a green tint on the gauge face and some people have it look green when soldering in LEDs but yours looks pretty white

Nope all mine is white with a bluish tint on like the 4x4 and headlight cause they have it on the button. I am not sure yet on the fan speed was thinking of doing the led and resistor there or trying to lay them so it would be able to function

Your gauges originally had a blueish tint?
