Bought Not Built

Thanks guys, and yeah I'll probably end up having to keep it. The book value of a 99 isn't spectacular and keeps coming up in the trade talks. So I may just try and set this one up with a proper 4 link on 24's and throw this 2 link out. Then I can throw some power at it and not get crazy wheel hope like I'm doing now.

That color is sex
Thank you sir, it needs a good cut and buff. I'm talking with the guy that painted my dash about reclearing the whole truck and possibly touching up the base a little. it used to have a roll pan that was ripped off and they just stuck a bumper on. I need to fix all the area in behind the bumper that's covered in black touch up paint.

Well I back tracked a little. Due to finding this last weekend when doing an oil change I'm not back on my spare 17's

Wasn't that bad when I went to MWDF so I'm guessing a long trip on 44 hwy killer the inner edge of that tire.

So I'm back to this.

But I did manage to get my carrier bearing raised.

Theres a 1" wide piece of flat steel across the top also like in the how to I found on the interwebs. Seems to be working great. No more vibration at take off or at 55mph. Should have done this when I 1st got the truck.

Since it was in the air I got a few of the exhaust. For the record the the y-pipe is below frame level. I drug it a bit at MWDF so I tried to raise it as high as I could when I did the carrier bearing and then resorted to hitting the low spot with a hammer.

Working on getting some tires now so I can get rid of the stocks.

Well I still have it. Done some trading on the wheels and ended up with a set of Boyd Savages.

Had to sand out all the curb rash, started with 80 grit on a da and worked my way up to 1500 wet.

And I moved over my 265/35R22's which are a little to narrow for these but I don't have the cash to buy new tires. This is after a quick buff for a show the next day.

Got them mounted and made it to the show, they rub just a tad on the pass rear. I'm hoping I can adjust the watts link and get that worked out but didn't have time before the show.

And a local free lance guy got this shot of it

Those look good! Wasn't sure how I felt about them in the first picture but on the truck, I love them. :better:

Thanks, I need to get under there and adjust the watts so I can drive low again. I got it up high now to drive so I don't scratch the wheel I just polished lol.

Looks like you need some longer link bars. Also if get that watts fixed quick. You'll rub the back side of that body line above the wheel and burn that paint up. Seen it done plenty of times

Made a slight change on the wheel dept, the billets were to wide so I have an offer for some transports and cash come up so I took it. All 4 tires are new and matching so that helps.

Also on the look out for a used kp 6 link. This 2 link is pulling the wheels to far forward and now when I'm all the way down it rubs on the driver bedside on the front edge.

Looks good dude. If they were silver they would look perfect imo.

I need those for my truck lol.

There's a local guy that has a set of transports for sale. I know it's played out now but if I could build the truck I wanted to 10 years ago I'd love to have them with painted red with white walls and beauty rings/baby moons.

I got the adapters with these that the c10 guys are using to run the old large caps on them, but you either have to drill and tap bolts into the wheel or mount them to a set of lug nuts. So right now I'll stick with these caps.

I'm running into an issue with my rear wheels hitting the forward edge of the wheel well opening. Looks like the 2 link it pulling them too far forward. You can see it here. Its digging into the tire right at the body line.

So I bought this and got it all in wrapped. Should be dropping off the truck later today to work on getting it installed.

I bought it used from a forum member so its got some brackets that I wont be using but the main 3 link and gas tank cross member parts are all there.

Haven't checked in on this either, Boyd's looked good but the transport wheels are right at home too.

Could you post some pics of the adapters for old style hubcaps?
