Alecks' hopes and dreams thread.

I have a 160* thermostat. It's nothing you can notice at all. Reason my tuner told me to do it is because it makes the motor run cooler, so he can add more timing. Not sure if that's entirely true but oh well lol.

Notice how there's "some" before both of those words. Weird huh lol

Just edited it and took out that I wanted one. Just cant bring myself to drop around 500 on it.
But you'll drop coin for katzkins? Trust me, you'll want a converter. I have had that cam on 2 different motors so I know what it's like. It'll be a turd without one. Have you ever driven a vehicle with a higher stalling torque converter?

Shaddupp. I have 15k on mine.

Cam with no converter = slower than stock lol and terrible to drive. Dnw.

yea the verter should be done before the cam in reality

Listen to those who have done it. I wouldn't even bother doing a cam without a converter. 3k minimum imo. I was stuck between a 2600 or 3000. Everyone told me I'd regret the 2600 and want bigger so I got a Yank TT3000 and wish I woulda gone 3600 lol and I tow daily. My TSP220 really doesn't start to pull hard til 3500+. I feel like there's a slight lag from a brake stall at WOT even with my 3000 converter.

There's cheaper options too. Used Circle D's pop up for $300 ish pretty often. Just gotta snag them.

I have an $800 PATC converter sitting in my garage id sell. It needs to be cut and cleaned out but that's only like $100 usually. It's billet and everything lol. Loved that converter.. Wish I could run the same in my 80e. It was a 3200.

But srsly.. I want at least a 3600 now.. May do a yank one day. A circle d verter is like $400 and well worth it. You will hate a cam with no converter

its like a 2 stroke without the verter, you sit there and wait for the power band to kick in.
