2003 RCSB Silverado

Appreciate it guys. What about engine/performance mods? I have been thinking about corvette intake.

That typicallly hurts torque which you dont need in a truck. If you dont want to engine swap then a cam and tune will really wake the ls engines up.

What kinda cam would you prefer on a daily driver and I might be getting a tune here in a couple weeks, my friend told me it helped him out a lot just off a tune. I have always wanted a cam but don't know anything about them. Lol.

I ran a texas speed 224/224 on 114 lsa in my last truck with 5.3. You will also need valve springs and push rods.

judging by your questions, you are gonna need someone with experiance helping with a cam.

plus if you put in a cam that will give you any power, your gonna need a torque convertor.

i suggest if your looking for power adders do some long tubes, a ORY, and a full exhaust with a straight through style muffler like magnaflow/dynomax etc.

a tune will be the best bang for your buck.

depending what type of driving you do, gears will give more power, but will drop highway mileage

Yea would not install cam without some knowledge in it. I had a 3200 converter I installed with my cam, without it its kind of sluggish until higher Rpms.

I appreciate all the info. And yeah I don't know much about a cam, I just have wanted one and there is a very good local guy who could do it. But I'm not sure how much he would charge, he is kind of expensive. No one around my area has a cammed truck and I'd like to be a little different. And I love the sound. Lol. But like yaw said a tune, is probably what I'll do shortly.

Interior painting Question. I have some SEM. Paint. What's the process of painting.. Pre paint work. Idk if I want smooth or still plastic.

For textured stuff, prep with a scotchbrite pad, clean with IPA, spray plastic adhesion promoter (Bully Dog or similar) then spray your SEM. I have it on a few interior pieces. I like how it came out, but I wish I had used their satin clear also to give the painted stuff a bit more protection from scrapes and normal wear.

I now have an HD cowl hood and the split grille as well. Hopefully getting some paint sprayed on them this weekend. Picture will be added once it's on
